This took me a while because there have been a few romantic nights that stick out to me, but I think above all of them I would have to choose the second night of my second week in Paris with Lestat. We were already pinched for money and my E string had broken — not to mention the fact that we had only enough money for one meal that day and decided not to eat until just before bed. So, Lestat had left to go grab us something to eat before all the shops had closed; I stayed behind because I was in a mood and sulking. But this particular night he took longer than usual, and I became rather irritated. I wondered if he had become distracted by something and not made it to the bakery in time to buy us some bread, at least… and I was anticipating an argument upon his return. But, when he did return, just as I was about to start off on some lecture to chastise him, he presented me not only with bread but also a new string for my violin. Turns out he had spent a lot of time haggling with the baker because he had spent the majority of our funds on a new string for me, to cheer me up. And, I think that was possibly the first real time someone had done something nice… just for me, for Nicolas. And even if it’s not terribly romantic, or anything steamy, it means a lot to me. And yes, for the lot of you still wondering if any kissing or things of the like took place after that.. Yes. But, that’s all you need to know.

do you believe louis to be fragile in any sense of the word?
ooc; No, not at all. I think Louis is honestly very tough. While he undeniably can be melancholy, he is and always has been a fighter, even when he himself might not have wanted to be.
There are many examples of how he’s
actually a strong independent vampire that don’t need no manvery willing to fight for himself throughout canon. His father died and he became the master of the plantation. That time he fought Lestat on the Freniere issue. When he set his own house on fire. When he kind of set Lestat on fire. When he set a whole theatre on fire. When he pretty much was like “ok bye” when Armand left him. When he basically survived those years by himself before Lestat resurfaced. When he legit never put up with Lestat’s bullshit from TVL onward. Lestat himself said that Louis acts as his conscience much of the time, and to be that conscience, Louis has to be strong.There’s a reason he’s one of the only vampires to have never went to ground.
I think, to be honest, the only person that’s capable of making him “fragile” is Claudia because he feels/felt he’s responsible for all of her sorrows and anger.

Lestat, being the singer he is, starts off louder than Louis. Almost composing whole ballads in honour of Louis’ crimson chest sweat. However, this really fuels (haha) Louis, with him being eventually the louder one. (Also, Louis needs to make sure David hears what they are up to, bc that’s a thing, obviously)

Definitely Lestat, no question here. I mean, you just need to start *any* sentence with “Lestat, should we…” and the answer will be YES LET’S DO THE THING I KNOW PLENTY OTHER THINGS TO GO ALONG WITH THE THING TO MAKE IS THE BEST THING EVER.
