I’m in love with The Vampire Chronicles lately, so I had an urge to draw Louis brooding and having an existential crisis. You know. Like he does every five minutes.
My dream came true ; I’ve been waiting for this ask for so long. My dear, thank you! Yes, I’m also a
huge fan – for many wrong reasons – of Top Gun, Maverick/Iceman is my fav
OTP ever (with Ethan Hunt/Will Brandt and Louis/Lestat ; yep I love to pair Tom
Cruise with guys, don’t judge me). Seriously I had never seen so much tension between
two characters in a movie before, it’s kinda amazing. Anywayyy, I digress. I also
made some unsuccessful crossover edits of the two movies. I mean it’s such a weird, specific and personal crossover I didn’t even hope to get notes (big up to every person who liked or reblogged it btw!) but Top Gun is the reason why I felt in love
with IWTV then VC soooo… I regret nothing haha!
But really, when you think about it, there’s some similarities… For example, the plot. Let’s call our hero(es) “the brat” (suits both Lestat and Maverick, nope?)
– First, the brat spot a dude
– he “fools around” with the aforementioned dude
– and it ends up with an “ambiguous” relationship.
– Of course, the brat crashes (in the water) and burns
– so he’s all sad and shit
– but finally, he fucking rises like a phoeniiiiiiiiiix.
Both movies also involves:
– flying (with sexy dudes)
– “fooling around” (with other sexy dudes)
– a shit load of sexy dudes (doing sexy stuff)
– heterosexual backing
– a touching piano scene (to make you cry when the piano guy dies in the next scene)
