There are a number of spooky tales from Louisiana, but one of the most enthralling is that of Manchac Swamp. First of all, Manchac is rumored to be haunted. It’s also rumoured to be the haunt of Rougarou, the Cajun werewolf. As well as that, it’s said to be haunted by Julia Brown, a once practicing voodoo priestess, who put a curse on the entire town the day she died. Legend says that on the day of her funeral in 1915, a deadly hurricane ripped through the town, destroying three villages and killing a number of people. A number of curious visitors to the swamp have reported hearing shrill screams from a disembodied woman.

^This is one of my all-time fave fanarts of Louis bc just look at his expression! Perfectly in character, exasperated but still has the energy to fight. Look how well-drawn he is! I had found this on DA [Louis de Pointe du Lac sketch by SpadeRabbit66] way before I had a tumblr, back when all I had was a personal collection. It was a fave then, too.
ANYWAY it’s great to find DA ppl on tumblr so that their art can be properly reblogged from them directly instead of just reposting w/ credit, which I’m doing here bc I’m using it as a sample of their work, I’ll reblog from their original post separately, too. We need to convince this artist to draw more VC… *u*
