(I assume you mean more than just unconscious sleep, which yes, he did sleep with her, that’s canon)
Y’know that’s smtg I’ve thought about, too. Was it only her body/age that was the obstacle there? She seemed to think so… or so it seems from what Louis shares with us re: just a few times when she even opened the subject with him.
Particularly that time in Europe when they had just killed the Icky Gross Mindless Vampire, and they’re totally exhausted and hungry, and she offers him her wrist:
“ `Drink,’ she whispered, drawing nearer. `Drink.’ And she held the
soft, tender flesh of the wrist towards me. ‘No, I know what to do;
haven’t I done it in the past?’ I said to her.” <—- REJECTED. I don’t think Claudia shared blood w/ either Lestat or Louis, at least not in any intimate way, ever, which had to have been part of her not-growing-up frustration.
SO BACK TO THE QUESTION AT HAND:
No, I don’t think Louis would have slept with Claudia if she had been turned at 18+ bc there were more obstacles than just her physical form.
For one thing, Louis was in a relationship already with Lestat, even though it was a problematic one.
The chemistry between people (even IRL) has to work in that way for there to be any sexual attraction.
He always cared for her like a daughter. She was very much his own security blanket, a buffer and a glue between him and Lestat.
She was less human than either of them, which did not seem to be something that made her more attractive, but less comprehensible to him: ” `I love you now with my human nature, if ever had it,’ I said to her.
“ `Ah yes …’ she answered, still musing. `Yes, and that’s your flaw,
and why your face was miserable when I said as humans say, ” I hate
you, “ and why you look at me as you do now. Human nature. I have
no human nature.’ ”
Also, in terms of canon vampire physiology, the Ricean vampires seem to be asexual, blood gives them all the satisfaction they need/want in that regard. It’s in fanon and RP that they’re sexual.
As a side note, claudiaindarkness might have some good opinions on this, bc she often RPs Claudia aged up. thevampire-claudia also had a thread in which Claudia was aged up and *ahem* had some private time with a Louis (merciful-death) if u need some tasteful au smut ;]
Thanks for the follow! Love reading fandom ppl loving on each other.
Even though I’m totally unknown in the VC fandom, I’ve followed it and lurked around off and on since 2001 when I was just an 8th grader.
These books and characters are a huge part of my life!
Hey there! That’s a really long time to lurk around! We here don’t like to see people feeling like their on the outskirts of the fandom-we want everyone to feel welcome and like they’re a part of our community; so if you’d like, there are tons of great people that the admins here look up to who would be willing to make you feel more welcome, and maybe get your name a bit more out there!
I personally know that i-want-my-iwtv, cloudsinvenice, and annabellioncourt are more than welcoming and would love talking to you and anyone else who wants to get more involved with the fandom. Also, you can talk to merciful-death and see about being added to her all-inclusive skype group to meet some great people.
And of course, an amazing way to feel closer to the characters and other people of the fandom is to send in asks to any of the great roleplay blogs floating around. Not only can you ask them about personal headcanons, but some blogs will actually give you a chance to talk to the characters themselves.
(This turned out waaaay longer than I had initially planned, and I definitely don’t want you to feel like I’m pressuring you into participating more if you don’t want to. It’s absolutely okay if you’re most comfortable lurking about. We just want to make sure everyone knows there are many open doors for those who want to feel closer to the action!)
“I just wanted to say that merciful-death is a wonderful mun and an incredibly RPer. They RP Louis with an acerbic wit that is incredibly difficult to capture, and truly do amazing thing to grasp his self-loathing and depth of character, not to mention his not-so-savoury parts of his character. She is also one of the sweetest muns and works so hard to be inclusive. I’m so grateful to have her in the fandom!”
Send me “Zzz” and I’ll write a drabble about a dream my muse has had about yours!
I dreamt of you the other night. You were running from me, which is always infuriating in whatever form it takes, but this time you were faster than I was, so much faster, truly pushing your abilities to the limit in an effort to escape me.
I could not tell if it was a game or a dire need for escape—I knew only that I had to catch you, had to wrap my arms around you and devour you, drink you down until I knew you would never run again.
But it was you who found me. Grasping me from behind, your hands on my belly, your mouth already on my neck, your eyeteeth breaking the skin there and stealing what I will always freely give, if only to you.
You know I despise playing the victim. But for you? For you I would die every night, taken again and again, as long as it is those hands and that mouth upon me.
Such gifts you give to me. How could I possibly refuse?
Armando, is it? I believe I can tell you otherwise since it was a name I chose, not a name I was given. I suppose I should be grateful it is not any worse.
At least it is not like that evening when Daniel discovered the etymology of my name and addressed me as Herman while laughing uproariously every. single. time he said the word. I don’t imagine many vampires have died from being strangled for obvious reasons, but the temptation to experiment was quite overwhelming after a certain point.
You know, Armando has a nice ring to it…
What about Hermando? (sorry. I had too. You guys made me snort laughter.)
Is there an afterlife? I once thought near constantly of this subject. Do those that I kill ascend to a heaven, or am I completely eradicating them from any semblance of existence?
Is there a hell, or perhaps might hell be on Earth? If it were so, would that not make immortality a punishment? It seemed fitting to me at one time, anyhow’ that feeling that my life might very well be hell, and some devil was at work prompting an endless cycle of death that I undoubtedly enjoyed, yet loathed that I did.
I became content, however, in the thought that there existed no higher beings, and everything that is simply “is.” The appearances of Claudia’s apparition—if it was she that Jesse Reeves encountered in the first place—shook that belief that had given me a semblance of peace for years. Yes, of course, if Claudia could appear as a spirit, that would mean there is, in fact, an “afterlife.”
Lestat claims to have seen God and the devil. Perhaps he did. Perhaps he was merely deranged.
