I find it disturbing that the only mention of New Mexico was in QOTD, and it wasn’t favorable. Is there a reason the vampires hate New Mexico? I mean It isn’t that bad, is it?
That doesn’t mean the vampires hate New Mexico, lol, even tho I don’t remember it being mentioned anywhere else in canon other than QOTD, either.
The only reference I see of New Mexico in QOTD is a very passing mention by a mortal (a bad guy) who’s dying: “Paralyzed, couldn’t move, thinking he was a kid again on a farm or something in New Mexico. Just baby talk.”
That wasn’t unfavorable (being mentioned by a dying bad guy doesn’t mean all ppl who had a childhood there will turn out to be bad guys), and doesn’t represent that the vampires hate New Mexico.

Keep in mind that there’s a lot of canon that takes place in other places and time periods. New Mexico was admitted into the US in 1912 [so sayeth Wiki] idk if there were vampires there before or after that, but there may have been restrictions about crossing the border before 1912. Also, travel for leisure is a relatively modern thing. In fact, Louis doesn’t mention any travel for leisure during IWTV, the three of them just stayed in New Orleans for 65 years? It’s possible.
Lestat is a Capricorn but there’s no information on Louis’ birthday. I always think that he’s a Cancer or Pisces. What do you think? lol
What you’re asking is not written explicitly in canon, iirc, but fandom has generally accepted the following info, maybe bc AR told us over the years? I don’t remember when we were told…
- Lestat’s birthday is November 7, the birthday of Anne Rice’s late husband Stan (whom she partially modeled Lestat after).
- Louis’ birthday is October 4, which is Anne’s birthday.
- Claudia mentions her birthday in her diary (in QOTD) as being September 21, but she’s not sure if that’s really her birthday and her dads won’t explain it further
(it’s probably the day she was turned, given the context of the diary entry). That’s Michele Rice’s birthday, Anne’s late daughter.
So Lestat is a Scorpio and Louis is a Libra. I don’t know much about astrology, you’ll have to take it from there, anon!

That wouldn’t even surprise me at this point tbh but how about this: In the very last book, Claudia wakes up as a mortal child and hugs her living mom bc this WAS ALL A SWEET DREAM OR A BEAUTIFUL NIGHTMARE.
Tbh even though Antonio Banderas Armand wasn’t exactly canon, he was still better than the Armand in The Queen of the Damned movie XD
Banderas!Armand was 85% Santino and 15% Armand. He was Armand in name and title, everything else was Santino.
The Armand in movie!QOTD (Matthew Newton) is no Botticelli angel himself ok? And I’m sorry bc I know some ppl actually really liked him, but look:

^He looks more like a Claudia cosplayer tbh. Same lipstick color, strand of beads necklace, the humidity has wilted his perm tho.

I was thinking the same while we were watching it. My cousin was like “He’s awful…but I like him.” She liked Louis too he just wasn’t her favorite. She cheered when he destroyed the theater vampires, lol. She didn’t care for Armand much but that’s understandable given the circumstances.

Armand is a Santiago & Armand hybrid ok jeez and he can’t be THAT offensive to someone who hasn’t read the book(s)!
