Well I couldn’t respond any other way than this, a re-imagining of that scene:

… Unfortunately Lestat has a type.

As usual, I gotta say that it’s not JUST about appearance, so I’m open to suggestions, and it would need to be someone who can make the transition between mortal and vampire really well.
THAT SAID: I would be looking for someone close to their 20’s, or looks like it, with luscious dark hair, A+ artist brooding skills, a smile that can melt your heart, and an almost feral edge, this is not your boy-next-door, but someone w/ razor sharp wit ever at the ready to stab you with, but he keeps it back as much as he can. Leashed cruelty.
Major plus if they can play violin, too, bc I know ppl are going to be watching their damn fingering and will criticize them up and down, even if they get training with it, bc violinning is such a huge part of that character.
Some ideas (in no particular order), and there are more in my #Nicolas de Lenfent tag, I’m just picking some favorites here:
So Hugh Dancy is not this age anymore, but we could find someone who resembled him at this time, as a starting-off point.

90’s!Trent Reznor:
Same comment as for Hugh. Must be someone out there who looks like Trent did at this age. Trent could look like an almost-feminine beautiful mess,

And he could look like he was barely tolerating your idiocy:

Nicolas RPer @a-misunderstanding-my-love uses model Michael Gandolfi (and others, I think?):

Nicolas RPer @darknessmolten uses David Garrett (who actually CAN violin!)

90’s!Skeet Ulrich:

shirtless tom cruise strapped to a pole. you’re welcome
Just missing a few accessories…

Oh, yes. A short list of essential music videos:
- Bela Lugosi’s Dead – Bauhaus
- Grimly Fiendish – the Damned
- Dominion – Sisters of Mercy
- Lullaby – The Cure
- Face to Face – Siouxsie and the Banshees
- Bloodletting – Concrete Blonde
Bonus round! (Not “classic” goth, but ones I feel are essential)
- I’m Afraid of Americans – David Bowie (featuring Trent Reznor)
- The Carnival is Over – Dead Can Dance
- Vampires Will Never Hurt You – My Chemical Romance (stop rolling your eyes, StuntHusband)
- Join Me In Death – HIM
- The Fine Art of Poisoning – Jill Tracy
It’s like beating your head open and unzipping your chest cavity saying ‘here are my guts – everything I’ve felt, including a lot of stuff I’m not proud of’. It’s hard. It uses you up. I walk off stage sometimes and feel like I’ve just slept with everybody in the audience.

“That tongue!… If he became a eunuch, it wouldn’t even matter!”
