An adaptation of Hamlet that’s filmed like it’s an episode of like Keeping up with the Kardashians, and every soliloquy is just a character doing a talking head interview
This is actually so brilliant that when I do a filmed Hamlet adaptation I will do this, pay you for the creative direction, and give you the concept byline.
I’ll be real, this post was like 5% joke, 95% realization that the purest preservation of the soliloquy in modern culture is the reality show talking head, a confessional both private and performative and essential to understanding the emotional underpinnings of the actions being played, all in a format of direct address that we accept.
//ooc; I’ve thought about this for awhile now, it’s been almost a month 😛 and I think it’s a little unfair of my Lestat to answer, bc he’s clearly going to like what I like, to some extent! And my taste is fairly limited bc I don’t keep up with what’s popular, I tend to wait out the hype and then discover things on my own 5-10 years later, and then I’ll go, “Have you heard Crazy by Gnarls Barkley?? It’s mah jam :DDD” And my best friend will pat me on the shoulder and go “Honey that was 11 yrs ago.” *laughcries*
[X] With @roselioncourt‘s help on our REAL LIFE visit last wknd, we made a rough list of bands/artists we think Lestat would love, and I’ll reblog this post with that list, as I don’t have it with me rn, but basically, I think he’s very into the performance aspect of it, the stage presence, and he’s into pop culture, he’d probably keep up with the current music scene, the top 100, what albums are selling, etc. He also likes to do covers of his fave songs and make variations to “improve” them ;D
Ah yeah! Stopped by my favourite charity shop today only to stumble upon this beaut in the section with English YA books (because vampires equal YA as we all know…) Of course I couldn’t leave it behind. I am dying at this graphic design. Amazing, incredible. (It’s The Vampire Lestat btw in case that wasn’t obvious from the wolf and Notre Dame lol)
I try not to post selfies too often bc it feels like… not really VC y’know? Like it doesn’t count as being on topic enough (it isn’t)(unless I was cosplaying a VC-verse character)(I don’t have the guts/skills for that), but it’s very heartwarming when ppl like you leave me nice messages like this, I do appreciate it ❤
Hello again, Mael anon! I’ll have to keep thinking on this one, I’m sorry to say he’s not a character I’ve given a lot of thought to and I don’t want to write anything that might be untrue to the character just to get an answer out 😛

I don’t remember that part, but I definitely saw the movie… hmmm… maybe I blocked it out? But how did the babies even grow in the vampire mother’s wombs? Very strange.
