not sorry to say your gif of lestat saying “yes” kills my ovaries every time i see it

Aw thanks! But that one I just posted, I didn’t make that one. Just found it. I love it, too, of course!

My Lestat saying Yes one is the one where he’s dancing with Claudia’s mom. I think your ovaries are safer from the one I did.

And then there’s the Lestat internal screaming one I did, that one’s pretty dangerous:

Her instagram is “annericeauthor”.

It is indeed pictures of her cat, Sugarplum. hahaha…

And other things, too. It’s kind of interesting tho, bc you get to see where she travels, and visit inside her house this way… she’s always made Lestat (and other characters) quite fond of sumptuous but tasteful interior design.

If L/L had a pet, I think a kitty like this one would be a good choice.

Why does Anne even have an instagram, really? What’s she got to put there? Cat videos?

Does she do instagram? Send me the link, I didn’t find hers. She has twitter but it just feeds from/to her FB posts.

It’s weird, she has this role now at the helm of her divided fandom, both feared and adored. She has a kind of presence in social media now where she shares recs for things that interest her, and she speaks out for gay rights and other causes, which she really didn’t bother with before social media. She has these People of the Page who unconditionally adore her and everything she says/does, maybe that’s why she voices her opinion on things. She must have some idea of how fun fandom can be, bc I don’t think she needs to do it to sell books at this point!

…And then people on the other side of that, Off-Pagers (maybe there’s a better word for us) who are grateful for what she’s created, but also sort of afraid of her for the nuclear warheads of Legal Whoopass she broke out on us in the 90’s. That’s why everyone thought the VC fandom was dead; we weren’t, we were scattered and hiding our fanworks from her for a long time.

I went off on a little rant there, it’s not like I’m defending her at all, but she may see this blog someday, so I try to be diplomatic when I mention her. Fortunately for the whole VC fandom, it seems she’s less concerned about fanworks now, and even likes some fanart.

I LOVE that gif you made of Louis and Lestat! It’s kinda just perfection. <3

omg thank u, such lovely compliment! This kind of positive feedback will only encourage more…

(that’s Fledgling!Gabrielle there)(or Lestat in drag w/ fake boobs, either works)

RE: QOTD movie – For Doctor Who fans: Paul McGann is David Talbot. (That’s about where my appreciation ended.)

I don’t watch Dr. Who but am sharing this for those who doooo 😛

Superficially though, I don’t know who I’d cast as mortal!David, but I love this guy that I’ve seen several vampire!David RPers use as their FC. This is a smile that surely would have seduced Lestat in more ways than one:

wut you havent watched tqotd lol i wish i hadnt (no matter how bad you think it is, it’s way worse and it cannot be unseen) (although the adult beverages will help) i just thought you would have watched it

LADY I HAVE TRIED to watch it. It’s on lots of channels every Halloween, not that it’s a particularly Halloween-y movie, I guess vampires=Halloween enough for the people who choose what movies to play when.

I have seen alot of it just flipping channels in Octobers, and it just… YOU clearly know that it’s a trainwreck. We all know. It’s the movie I immediately cite when someone asks me what the worst movie is. Siiiigh.

Textsfromthevampire Does good stuff with it, tho.

Welcome to our madness. Omg Armand is a cute little uke and a bastard, isn’t he… Come off anon so I can check out your blog, too *u*

(just don’t watch the QotD movie before you read the book)(Better yet don’t watch it at all)(I still haven’t)(It’s too painful, what I’ve seen already cannot be unseen)(but a VC friend has volunteered to help me watch it the whole way thru)(There Will Be Adult Beverages at this screening so help me)

Hi, I only started reading the VC last year so I am really new to the fandom. So far I have only read the first two books and a lot of people seem to not like many of the sequels. Could you suggest which one of the other books I should/should not read?

Welcome to our stable of unstable vampires! 😀

That’s true, some people don’t consider the books past #4 (Tale of the Body Thief) or #5 (Memnoch the Devil) to be canon.

Definitely read these:
– Queen of the Damned (but the movie is terrible and only loosely simialr to the book, don’t traumatize yourself with that!)
– Tale of the Body Thief – Lestat takes Doing the Thing to an extreme.
– the Vampire Armand – bc of reasons.
– Memnoch the Devil – this one presents some really interesting stuff on religion, it’s almost like fanfic of the Bible; I’m not a religious person and I still got alot out of it. Plus it has alot of Feels.
They do get exponentially more insane starting with #5 (someone coined the phrase “the Vampire Crackicles” for those) but that doesn’t mean they’re not worth a try. It’s still intriguing to know what happens/happened to the characters. I think you should keep going in order and see what you think!
