The alcohol swirling in my glass was rather off-putting–I raised it to my lips every few minutes to blend, but Lestat left his drink untouched.
“Louis,” he whispered into my ear. “That one.”
I followed Lestat’s line of vision. He was gorgeous, skin flushed from dancing, and his heart nearly sang, even in the din of the club. He had long, well-cared-for chestnut hair and a lithe frame, perfect for weaving in and out of the gyrating bodies. He wore almost no clothing, choosing instead to parade around in slick, wet-look shorts and a vinyl chest harness. I curled my lip in distaste–part of the fun with Lestat was making him work for his meals.

//Another Armand for Inktober. I found the reddish-brownish ink sitting on my shelf and thought d throw it into the mix. And why no use some goldleaf whilst I’m at it? The whole picture is TINY and intended to be a sketch only, but I think it turned out pretty enough for a first try. WHY DIDN’T ANYBODY TELL ME THAT (K)INKTOBER WAS A THING?! Be prepared! PS: The outfit is something I’ve had in mind for a long time. It appeared in one of my RPGs with my Louis and was stuck in my head ever since.
Was it Lestat the one who dolled Claudia up and made her look like a grotesque rococo statuette? Was it Claudia herself, in a fit of frustration against her childish body and face? Or is it just a visual metaphor about the (un)human condition a la Marius “what are you saying my paintings are so fucking subtle” de Romanus? Pick your fave.
