Or maybe, a prompt situation: Louis/Lestat try roleplaying in costumes but neither can really can get into character bc they keep gently criticizing each other. They end up laughing about it and having a great night anyway, of course ;]
Yes, Lestat is perfect ^____^ He’s got that Whatever-whatever-I-do-what-I-want thing going on (and the thing he does may be inadvisable but it’s always fun/harrowing/etc. to ride along w/ him), he’s unbearably hawt, he dresses well (tho he could wear a trash bag and we would still hurl ourselves at his feet)… basically all that and a bag of chips as we used to say in the 90s and now sounds oddly British!
What makes him really lovable, for me, are his imperfections and the way he reacts to failure. Because he does fail quite alot. It doesn’t stop him from trying, though.
Also, I think one of the most endearing aspects about Lestat is the sense of wonder he has for others (human and non-human) and the world, and he’s open to deep philosophical discussion as much as he is intrigued by well-lit colorful bottles of shampoo.

This is the guy I would most want as Lestat. No he doesn’t look like Rutger Hauer or Tom Cruise. Did Tom Cruise perfectly *match the physical descriptions from the books* physically? No, but he did a fabulous job bc PROFESSIONAL ACTING. I think Ulliel’s charm as young Hannibal proved he doesn’t need to match those descriptions either. Consider:
Speaks French fluently. Obviously.
Great figure
Blue eyes
Great smile
A smile that can look mischievous, cruel, playful, etc.
