It’s been a very, /very/ long time since I followed anything IWTV related, mainly because of how dangerous it used to be. I just wanted to say that I’m glad blogs like this are able to exist now. ♥ Keep on the amazing work, I’m in love with everything about this blog haha.

Aww, merci merci! Welcome (back) to the fandom ♥♥♥ Thank u for the blog leurve *u*

YES it DID used to be a dangerous thing to have anything IWTV related, how dare we as fans Like a Thing and show our appreciation by *gasp* making fanworks for it?? HOW DARE.

I like to think of us as the formerly battered step-children of fandom, having been beaten into submission decades ago, confined to sharing fanworks underground, and, over time, slowly coming up once certain people had decided not to attack their own fans and finding each other in web 2.0, the series reinvigorated by new books/adaptations (tho sporadic, there have been several over the years!) and basically, finding our place in the moonlight, so to speak.

We’ve survived more battles here, too. Wars with the FB People of the Page, more wars from AR against critics of her works, roleplayer and other drama here on tumblr.

What you see now is a fandom that’s been broken and put itself back together, welcomed fresh fans who found their parent’s VC collection and gave it a chance, watched one or more of the movie adaptations, seen the Lestat musical, or started the series based on one of the newer books being published… I think it’s the fresh fans who have helped to heal the older ones ^______^

I’d like to think that all the past suffering has made us more forgiving of each other’s faults, given us more empathy for each other, than fans in other fandoms who haven’t had as rough a time as we have. For the most part I think that’s true.

Sorry, I went off on a whole wall of text there. I guess what I’m saying is that my gift to the fandom has been trying to cheerlead and maintain our revival. This blog started as just my personal backup for collecting fanworks, ideas, and VC news, and it turns out that that stuff? Is something other ppl wanted, too. The lifeblood of the fandom is in the fans sharing works and making friends with eachother ❤

If you’re looking for more specifically VC blogs, try my #VC fandom hunters tag. Some of the blogs mentioned there may have deactivated by now, but it’s a decent place to start 😉

I can’t help but feel as though Louis would’ve liked Leonard Cohen- for his melancholy songs and poetry. Such a shame he passed away.

I would have to agree… I’m not familiar with most of Leonard Cohen’s pieces but the ones I know, I definitely think Louis would find very relatable.

This performance of Hallelujah by

Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon) was deeply touching to Louis, I’m sure…

Does lestat or Louis or anyone else in the family like the lord of the rings and hobbit movies

To make this better, gonna take this as an excuse to bump some fanart, here are a few artists who draw LOTR and/or the Hobbit you should check out (in no particular order):

Adding some choice commentary from the tags bc it all made me smile really big, all headcanons accepted:

Louis knows the LOTR trilogy by heart and he’s read all the books. He likes to try to sneak quotes in when possible:

The whole coven agrees that they’re all beautiful films, they’re modern classics in a way. The LOTR movies are watched more often at coven gatherings than the Hobbit movies, but more because of the story and characters than the cinematography Louis has a not-so-secret crush on Aragorn that everyone likes to tease him about!

Louis knows all kinds of obscure trivia, and has debates about them with Armand, who has also read them all. Lestat, feeling left out of these discussions, tried to read the books and fell asleep repeatedly. He mispronounced the names of characters and places a few times and refuses to try to read them again for fear of further ridicule.

Armand is very into the hobbits themselves as creatures and has gone to New Zealand with Daniel more than once to check out Hobbiton.

This post feels like someone out of the blue bought me something I’d wanted for a long time but had no money for.

#two of my favorite things#this makes me feel so sentimental#like I’m choked up#the vampire chronicles#the lord of the rings

// Where do I even begin? Let’s start like this. I played Nicolas on another platform and some kind soul linked me to a drabble on tumblr, written by @a-misunderstanding-my-love, because it reminded them of my Nicolas. I agreed and proceeded to quite literally read through the entire journal.

Through that process I found out that this amazing Nicolas writer also played Gabrielle – be still my heart – and then of course a perfect iteration of the one and only Brat Prince. I also discovered some of the other great writers that way and I finally decided that, yeah, this might make it worth giving tumblr RP a try. So I messaged her and asked if she’d be interested in playing with me and she was even so kind as to help me get started by explaining what to do and showing me the ropes a little.

Then the fun really started. But yes, what to say about her? I don’t know her that long yet, but already it feels weird if we don’t at least talk for a bit every day. She’s helped make me feel welcome from the time on when I was just someone who was a great fan of her writing and desperate to interact and now we get to have fun in various threads and just by talking to each other.

That she’s a talented writer is an understatement. Obviously her writing was enough to make me want to brave tumblr, so that should speak for itself. She always manages to make me laugh or want to cry or even make me angry – at her character for the flaws she portrays so well – often all of that within just a few lines. She knows so much about canon and fandom, she’s witty and sarcastic and sweet, fascinating and experienced and always a joy to talk to. I admire her deeply and I’m pleased to no end that I actually get to write with her.

A cranky bitch, a seductive queen and a great friend, all in one person. ❤

Best. Blog. Ever!!!!!! You’re an awesome person and I’m glad you’re here👻
