I feel like Only Lovers Left Alive is how Lestat and his coven like to think of themselves but in reality they’re What We Do in the Shadows.

There are many recurring themes that echo from the other books into Prince Lestat but this is by far the best one.
Viva la pyromaniac Louis
When this happened I laughed so damn hard that I had to physically put the book down and finish laughing before I could continue.

(♛ Lestat here, darlings. Mun was tagged but I felt like answering these, so I am dictating these answers.)
1. Why did you choose your URL?
She chose it because she clearly wants her Interview w/ the Vampire. It’s actually a little twist on the old MTV slogan, “I want my MTV.” Currently she prefers her interviews to be with the one that wasn’t initially interviewed, c’est moi, mes amis.
2. What is your middle name?
I do have a middle name, Christophe Marie. The mun’s middle name is Dorothy. How very Wizard of Oz.
3. If you could own a fairytale/fictional pet, what would it be?
I AM a fairytale pet! Hm… so many to choose from, and I don’t even know the full index of them all. I would say a beautiful little lady fairy, with endowments that would be fun to watch bounce *ahem*… a small winged dragon that I could take to the air with me. That is one thing Mojo (or any other dogs so far) unfortunately did not enjoy.
4. Favourite colour?
RED. GOLD. Gem tones in general. Creamy white. I must have several gray velvet blazers in my wardrobe at all times.
5. Favourite song?
The great Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ is a close second to Springsteen’s ‘Secret Garden.’
Honorable mentions: Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’, Chamillionaire – ‘Ridin’ ft. Krayzie Bone’
6. What are your top 3 fandoms?
I am just getting into Superwholock… just kidding just kidding, put your holy water and sharpened stakes down! Vampire Chronicles. It is my fandom, after all. Is there a Sam Spade fandom? A Blade Runner fandom? I shall start them.
7. Why do you enjoy Tumblr?
The drama in the coven The beautiful tribute artwork of myself, my loved ones, the written declarations of love to us! Who can resist that kind of production? I do also get alot out of the fashion, the pop culture, and the photography. Especially photography of sunrises, sunsets, vistas in the daylight *siiiigh.*
8) Tag 9 of your tumblr crushes (they have to do all 8 questions too) ((if you want to of course))

tagging (in no particular order) vampchronfic, annabellioncourt, coldinhumanity, sheepskeleton, garama, teabq, damnitarmand, a-misunderstanding-my-love, tickedtabbyflower, vagabonddaniel, any anyone else who wants to do it!
Headcanon: Lestat has been watching Only Lovers Alive on repeat for the past two weeks. When he goes on his nightly walks he’s listening to the soundtrack on one of his dozens of ipods. He’s considering turning Jim Jarmusch, Tilda Swinton, and Tom Hiddleston.
This is a good headcannon. I like this headcannon. But you forgot to mention the singer, Yasmin, from the end of the film. He’d turn her in a heartbeat.
Or, well, lack of a heartbeat.
I love everything about this headcanon. Yes.

Lestat
This is still funny six plus years later
This will NEVER stop being funny to me. Never.
Was the “talk to the hand” gesture that Louis gave Lestat around in the late 18th/early 19th century or was that just something that dates Interview with the Vampire as a true ‘90’s movie?
Louis invented that move.
ok yeah I think it was a 90s thing, but watch carefully, Louis does that move a number of times in the movie… it’s usually ineffective tho!
I don’t remember anything about how she felt about movie!IWTV’s ending, but yeah, there was a whole thing about the Cruise casting, and she certainly changed her tune.
AR’s actual words re: Tom here: http://www.angelfire.com/ri/cerat/AnneOnTom.html
She went from:
“The Tom Criuse casting is just so bizarre, it’s almost impossible to imagine how it’s going to work, and it’s really almost impossible to imagine how Neil, David and Tom could have come up with it. I have one question: Does Tom Criuse have any idea of what he’s getting into? I’m not sure he does. I’m not sure he’s read any of the books other than the first one, and his comments on TV that he wanted to do something scary and he loved “creature features” as a kid, well, that didn’t make me feel any better. I do think Tom Cruise is a fine actor. [But] you have to know what you can do and what you can’t do.“
– an interview with Martha Frankel, published in Movieline (Jan/Feb 1994)
To:
“ON TOM CRUISE: From the moment he appeared Tom was Lestat for me. He has the immense physical and moral presence; he was defiant and yet never without conscience; he was beautiful beyond description yet compelled to do cruel things. The sheer beauty of Tom was dazzling, but the polish of his acting, his flawless plunge into the Lestat persona, his ability to speak rather boldly poetic lines, and speak them with seeming ease and conviction were exhilarating and uplifting. The guy is great.
Wow, really?! I didn’t know that! Thank you so much. Neil Jordan. That’s a rare case where I like the movie ending better than the book’s! (Sympathy for the Devil was an absolutely brilliant choice, too. I don’t understand how that ending went so well and Queen of the Damned went so horrifically wrong. OY.)
keep in mind this is the same dork who still gets mesmerized by well-lit shampoo bottles in Wal-Mart. He has a thing for light ;]
He’d probly love this too:

Yeah, in fanon, I think we all agree when Louis looks especially fashionable, it’s because Lestat dressed him! Louis looks damn fine in torn jeans and a distressed sweater tho, tbh.
And yes, book!IWTV mentioned briefly that Louis had preferred black:
“… and it was [Claudia’s] pleading that forced me to give up my rusty black for dandy jackets and silk ties and soft gray coats and gloves and black capes. Lestat thought the best color at all times for vampires was black, possibly the only aesthetic principle he steadfastly maintained, but he wasn’t opposed to anything which smacked of style and excess.” – Interview with the Vampire
In movie!IWTV, he was already depressed enough, if he was also dressing like someone in mourning, I think it might have been harder to convince the audience why Lestat liked him at all!
Plus, his wardrobe shows a progression of his character throughout the course of the story.
BONUS: Louis still has the coat that he wore when he was with Claudia in Paris:

Can you imagine how painful it would have been, returning to the hotel room he shared with Claudia, and all her clothes and accessories exactly as they were when she left it last? ;A;
