I’m sorry to say that I’m not knowledgeable re: horoscope signs… I can link you to a post where @luthiluthi sorted a lot of them, so check that out…

Canonically, we have Word of God from the author re: birthdays for 3 of them:

  • Lestat’s birthday is November 7, the birthday of Anne Rice’s late husband Stan (whom she partially modeled Lestat after).
  • Louis’ birthday is October 4, which is Anne’s birthday.
  • Claudia mentions her birthday in her diary (in QOTD) as being September 21, but she’s not sure if that’s really her birthday and her dads won’t explain it further (it’s probably the day she was turned, given the context of the diary entry). That’s Michele Rice’s birthday, Anne’s late daughter.

So that means (according to astrology-zodiac-signs.com, idk if it’s authoritative):

  • Lestat’s a Scorpio – the most lusty/sexual sign, brave, passionate, stubborn, violent, jealous, secretive, resentful, manipulative ✓YEP
  • Louis is a Libra – the scales, justice, contemplative, Cooperative,diplomatic, gracious, fair-minded, social, Indecisive, avoids confrontations, will carry a grudge, self-pity ✓YEP
  • Claudia is a Virgo – a virgin, strong, practical, detail-oriented ✓YEP

There’s fanon that Armand’s birthday is Nov. 11 (@auburnandamberangel posted about it last yr, but I think it’s a fanon thing as well), and I like that it would be that close to Lestat’s on the calendar, another source of contention between them, that they’d share the same zodiac sign >;}

Armand WOULD HATE following Lestat on the calendar, like, c’mon, Lestat would throw a HUGE BALL for himself (you KNOW he would), and then like 4 days later, Armand wants to have a big party… and everyone is like… ~Meh we just HAD one~… (They all went home already)(poor Armsy ;A;) 

So Louis suggests to Lestat that he share! And have a bday party for both of them in between, on like 11/9. And Lestat is all pouty like “WHY SHOULD I SHARE WHEN MINES FIRST?? 11/9 WILL BE TOO LATE FOR MINE”

^it’s a source of contention.

Hello there, I’ve heard that Lestat was given a birthday of AR’s husband, and Louis was given AR’s birthday. Is that true? I just read the first two books of VC, and it didn’t mention their birthday at all. Do vampires celebrate their birthdays?

Only the first 2, wow you have a ways to go! 

Yep, she gave us their birthdates (Louis – October 4; Lestat – November 7) outside of canon. Neither date is mentioned explicitly in canon, and so some ppl do not accept that information as canon.

(There is also some fanon that Armand’s bday is November 11, which AR never mentioned at all.)

I don’t recall the vampires ever celebrating their birthdays explicitly in canon, but I headcanon that some of them do. Some of them prefer to celebrate the date they were turned, some celebrate both (exception: I headcanon that Lestat doesn’t celebrate the date he was turned) and some celebrate neither (Khayman, maybe).

EDIT: Claudia mentions in her diary entry in QOTD that Sep. 21 is the night her dads honor every year as her birthday, and she doesn’t know why. It’s probably the night she was turned, bc Lestat tells her “‘It was the day you were born to us.’ ” It’s Michele Rice’s birthday, Anne Rice’s daughter.

[X] BTW, I was looking for a reference as to Lestat and Louis’ birthdays for an Ask and found this. Someone used one of my memeythings for Becket’s birthday in 2015. The POTP are aware of me… *shudders*

And no, AR was not among the 21 who Liked that pic.

I don’t remember Armand’s birthday ever being mentioned in the books. Did Anne Rice ever mention it, or did you choose it? If so, was there a reason you chose November 11?

[I read the books when I was 15/16, meaning that it’s been almost 4 years. I’m rereading Vampire Armand again for rping purposes and past the middle it hasn’t been mentioned yet. However, this is the date I got from more than one wiki page and since I didn’t have a specific date in mind I decided to stick with it. Anne Rice might have mentioned it in an interview, perhaps? I’m afraid I won’t be able to assure you that.

Lestat is a Capricorn but there’s no information on Louis’ birthday. I always think that he’s a Cancer or Pisces. What do you think? lol

What you’re asking is not written explicitly in canon, iirc, but fandom has generally accepted the following info, maybe bc AR told us over the years? I don’t remember when we were told…

Better birthday than…? Well, c’mon, that’s setting the bar too high, nothing tops Gabrielle bitch slapping Lesty! I would pay good money to watch that. But this birthday has definitely been in the top 5 of all my birthdays EVAR and continues to be! More party time this wknd, w/ birthday driiiiinks…

Is this her birthday? Or the night she was turned? They don’t answer her. I think it was the night she was turned, “you were born to US”

According to this, September 21 is Michele Rice’s birthday, 1966. Michele died of

acute granuleucytic leukemia

on Aug. 5, 1972.

Well, since the whole series (even IWTV, really) is based around Lestat and shit that happens bc of him doing the thing, we could make it his birthday which is November 7, 1760. We don’t have the exact date he was turned, but he was between 20-21 yrs old, and it was October, so we could say October 1. 

The Anne Rice Vampire Lestat Fan Club has a ball for him (and the series) every year in NOLA on Halloween, but Halloween is already Halloween, we shouldn’t be greedy, trying to snatch it away from Halloween-lovers. Well, we could share… but anyway… I like the idea of the VC having it’s OWN day.

Could make it the anniversary of IWTV’s publishing. April 12, 1976.
