I think I can speak for all three of us *~parental figures~* when I say all we want is to enjoy this fandom together with u all!

Personally, I love getting impressions from ppl just starting reading the series, as well as ideas from ppl who have already read and reread some or all of the VC. The headcanons ppl share are inspiring and the fanartists breathe visible life into these characters we all cherish. The silly stuff, the meta discussions, the RP… it’s a gift that keeps on giving to support such a fandom. 

So thank you for following us, for sharing back with us, and if I could quit my job and just do this for a living I WOULD DO THAT IN A HEARTBEAT so much fandom love back to you, and the original writer of this lovely sentiment.

What’s the biggest tip you would give newbie vampires?

Absorb into yourself the world around you, because time will soon replace it with something else.  Places shall always remain the same beneath it all, but mortal acquaintances, simple aesthetics, and the way that humanity moves within it will always die and be replaced with something else.  Enjoy all that you can.

Sign ups for the 2015 VC Secret Rose Gift Exchange are open!  Why Secret Rose?  Because the birth flower of the month of June (when gifts are due) is a rose, that’s why. -so witty-

A few things that were added to the rules page since the last exchange:

  • We’re not going to demand you do it, but if you would pretty please open your submit box the day we send out assignment (May 9), it would be really, really nice of you.  It’s so much easier for us to send them via the submit box, and the submit box is generally more reliable than ask boxes.
  • Please confirm you received your assignment.  (This will be mentioned again in the assignment message, if you forget.)
  • Try to be creative with your prompts!  It’ll help the person gifting to you if you throw a few ideas at them.  “Louis, Lestat, and Claudia doing some fun things when she was still a kid, maybe involving flowers and spring,” tends to be more helpful than just “something with Louis, Lestat, and Claudia.”

You have until May 8th at 11:59PM CDT to join the exchange.  As always, the day after, on May 9th, you will receive your assignment.  This is like a Secret Santa, so don’t tell anyone who you’re gifting to, especially not the person you’re making a gift for!  You’ll have until June 6th at 11:59PM CDT to submit your gifts to this page, and then they’ll post on June 7th.

Feel free to reblog this around, even if you can’t participate!  All of the fanworks that come from these gift exchanges are truly a gift to the whole fandom.

ooc; devilsfool was amazing.  I’ve RPed with many people throughout the three years I’ve been roleplaying Louis on Tumblr, and I can honestly say that devilsfool was one of the most effortless people to RP with.  We “clicked” very well in our writing.  We shared many of the same headcanons and I always looked forward to seeing them on the dash, or getting asks from them.  They’re such a sweetie OOC as well.  I’m still very, very sad that they’re not on Tumblr anymore.

ooc; Coven Game Night Poker Edition

I COULD TOTALLY SEE THIS.

Lestat’s a hot shot, and would probably bet everything all at once, but doesn’t even care when he ends up sitting in his birthday suit.

Benji had to beg to join since he’s technically a minor, but when Marius said “NO” Armand just looked at him like he was a camera on the office. Marius sucks at poker and ends up naked next; then Benji because he hasn’t been alive as long to perfect his poker face.

Sybelle is playing piano in the corner and no one thinks she notices but there’s a mirror above her on the wall and she really like’s tonight’s entertainment.

Louis was literally dragged into the room to play by Lestat and Armand, and it happened to be the only thing that the two of them worked together on that entire year.

Armand’s done next, and shoots death glares at the others, even though he’s not the least bit embarrassed. 

And then there’s Louis, where there, on the final set of turns, when he’s the last one in, they look at him with nothing off but his shoes. 

“Louis when did you lose them?”

“I didn’t, I just felt like taking them off and relaxing.”

There’s enough anon hate on Tumblr.

Excellent point. I avoid drama but even if what I do hear about is all that’s going on, then it’s already too much. Vampires may live forever but we do not; life is too short for that crap when we could be focusing on the people and things that make this fandom great.
