You caught me I do want your blood

♛I meant that in the figurative sense but of course someone had to go and take it literally. *growls* Just because the first vampiric monarchy found themselves imprisoned, forced to share, doesn’t mean I’ll meet the same fate.

If anyone calls me “the Fount” or any repugnant variation of such, they’ll find themselves facing the business end of Louis’ scythe. Fair warning.

But the real question is… do you want to survive?

GET IT? GET IT? BECAUSE THE MOVIE IS SO BAD IT MIGHT NOT BE WORTH LIVING IN A WORLD WHERE IT EXISTS. YOU’RE WELCOME.

Yes this world is still worth living in, marred as it is by that film. This describes my feeling for that heartbreaking work of staggering genius (by textsfromthevampire):

DRINK when

  • there is any narration or voiceover
  • anyone drinks blood
  • there is a flashback
  • a music performance is shown (live or on television)
  • anyone says “King"
  • Akasha uses ‘powers’

i-want-my-iwtv there’s this??? I’ve tried it.

#well here is a QOTD drinking game that at least one person survived! #APPROVED

If a vampire can walk in the sunlight then do they sleep during the night, stay awake during the day, and do they sleep in a bed?

That’s alot of Ask! It would depend on the type of vampire. I did some sunscreen discussion a little while ago. askavampirologist would be better for this question, too.

^So Claudia has a bed, and it is covered with dolls, but why even have a bed if you don’t plan to sleep in it at all? Oh wait bc sexytiemsnot for Claudia tho, she has a bed to hold her doll collection and dead figure drawing models ffs… In the books they sleep in beds, now that there are really good blackout curtains available.

^In movie!IWTV, Claudia was able to be awake during the daylight, she just couldn’t let it touch her. I don’t think she (or the other Ricean vampires) would have wanted to try to adopt a day/night sleep schedule like a person… even if they physically could, vampires seem to be nocturnal animals and prefer it that way.

Choice is really irrelevant with Book!VC (Ricean) vampires bc they succumb to the Deathsleep; they are physically unable to stay awake during daylight hours. Even in a place like Alaska in which nighttime extends during the winter months, Ricean vampires are still susceptible to a reasonable deathsleep rhythm.

Vampires in other media, like Only Lovers Left Alive for example, do stay awake during the daylight hours if they feel like it, and they do sleep in beds. Are they trying to imitate mortals? Maybe!

Who is that little boy that hangs around Armand? That little boy Louis bites on the hand.

That’s Denis. He’s Armand’s pet. We don’t know much about him.

3 things about this bite:

1. After watching the gruesome performance at the Theatre, Louis and Claudia are both pretty hungry. Seems like a courtesy offering to a vampire, like you might offer someone water or soda or whatever when they’re a guest in your house. In the book, Claudia gets a bite of Denis, too.

2. Seems like a trust-building exercise. All the vampires in the Theatre are watching him, and we’ve seen how easy it is to poison a vampire. Louis accepting this offering is a show of good faith, trusting them that they’re not poisoning him right then.

3. Killing/drinking blood is a very sensual experience for vampires, Louis describes sex as “the pale shadow of killing.” Makes sense then, that Louis does not like to be watched doing it. Also, he’s usually unable to stop himself from killing his victims. Armand’s mind gift is very strong, and he’s enjoying this whole moment on a deeper level.

We know that Denis is fiercely devoted to Armand, he even drives the getaway carriage for him and Louis after Louis serves his revenge at the Theatre des Vampires, en flambé, of course.
