George: You know, I wine ’em and dine ’em, but I don’t let ’em tell me what to do.
(To dolls.) I don’t let ’em tell me what to do.Episode 2×13 “Motherboy XXX”
This week we interview the academic writer and artist Robyn Kenealy, the genius behind Steve Rogers’ American Captain and Roddy’s Film Companion. We discuss the comic industry, both local and inter…
Who would like to listen to an hour of me being a pretentious drunk asshole? All of you? That’s what I thought, here you go.
This is not VC, but WHATEVA WHATEVA I do what I want.
Notbutseriouslyy’all, this is the artist who convinced me that a really good comparison could be drawn between Tony Stark and Lestat de L., and now I can’t unsee it, so you should follow her and read her comic and also she is the beautiful mind & hand behind this fanart:

^Bonus points for Lestat having an opinion on a Twilight character.
We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

I feel like Only Lovers Left Alive is how Lestat and his coven like to think of themselves but in reality they’re What We Do in the Shadows.

Michael: Kids love boundaries. I mean,
look at these girls. Is this what you want?Tobias: Oh, God, no.
Michael: This could be where your daughter is headed.
Tobias: Oh, no, no, I don’t want this for Maeby
either.Episode 1×21 “Not Without My Daughter”
He’s right in this instance, but, AS IF, should Armand really be giving parenting advice? PARENTING IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING A COVEN MASTER OK SHUTUP
When you are a vampire, you become very… sexy.
I saw What We Do in the Shadows at the premiere for it in NY. It’s a great vampire mockumentary! I was in stitches. Just excellent. Can’t wait to buy a copy on DVD, the creators said there would be loads of extra goodies *u*
There was a Q&A afterwards with the creators, and I asked them if any of their vampires took inspiration from Anne Rice’s, and they did say the costume design was definitely influenced by Interview with the Vampire, among other vampire movies. The Lost Boys was a big inspiration, too. C’mon tho, Lestat himself had to be an influence. These are very dysfunctional vampires.
I don’t want to spoil anything but there is a scene that is particularly reminiscent of a scene in IWTV!

“Some Interviews with some Vampires”
The Sunshine Cinema is now playing WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, a hilarious comedy in which an endearingly unhip quartet of vampires are forced to learn a thing or two about modern society. Writers/directors/stars Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi (creators of the hit series “Flight of the Conchords”) will appear in person at the Sunshine Cinema on Friday, February 20 for Q&A’s after the 7:00pm and 9:30pm shows and Saturday, February 21 for Q&A’s after the 7:00pm and 9:30pm shows.
I saw this last week, the Q&A is totally worth it, too!
