So I’ve been reading The Vampire Chronicles and have been super enjoying it so far. I love the disgusting drama these creatures get up to. While I’ve been busy at work I have had the time to sketch these out and today the studio was on break and I was able to color them all in one swoop.
It’s pencil plus a couple multiply/overlay layers in photoshop.

The order is:
Louis, Claudia, Lestat
Armand, Nicki, Gabrielle
Bianca, Marius, Santino.

I’m reading QotD next so expect Akasha soon, ohohoho….

Oh god they’re all so beautiful 💜

I really liked these sketches (that are still up somewhere on my blog) but felt like they both needed some color.

These are some Tale of the Body Thief inspired doodles featuring Lestat, Louis, Jame Ragland, and (of course) Mojo. Good doggie.

Finished a commission for @thevampireforthesetimes of Lestat and Marius enjoying some body paints~

I was glad to do a commission for a pairing I rarely see fanart of..! Glad to finally draw some VC nsfw~

Note that the painting on Lestat’s body is much more skilled; Lestat’s more of a fingerpaints-level artist and we see what u did there w/ the arrow lol

Okay but that vampires in space comment immediately reminded me of that one comic drawn by remarried where Daniel and Armand are laying down and Daniel’s just asking Armand about what would happen if vampires went to space

Yep, that’s @remarried‘s! [X]

To answer Daniel, I think the sun is always up and could hurt them but they could stay on the dark side of the planet where it’s night, and also, the spaceship/spacecompound could be sealed from sunlight. The vampires inside would still fall into the deathsleep on their own inner biological clocks so even with a spacesuit capable of protecting them from the sunlight they’d probably still fall into the deathsleep in the presence of sunlight… it would get complicated.

More importantly, they’d need to bring live victims and wouldn’t be able to kill, bc they’d kill off their blood supply. Ricean vampires don’t get much nutrition out of animal or bottled blood, presumably they also need the soul that comes with live human blood.

If a vampire died in space, the ashes would have nowhere to go, but hopefully they would be scattered, bc Ricean vampires can sometimes resurrect if their ashes are not scattered 😛

I don’t even know how to feel about the new book lmao. I’m excited that its a new book, but the premise feels…. out there? XDDDD I dunno, man, I dunno. I’ll buy it. Read it. Of course. But what a strange twist. XDDDD There’s gonna be a lot of funny fanart floating around lol

You know what’s even more hilarious to me about all this than just ATLANTIS is that the more ppl question it, the stronger I get in my belief in it as an AU fanfic, and the more I support it as such, totally against my better judgment *crying and laughing*

Hey we finally got mermaids in our fandom so I am totally fine with it as an AU!

In Body Thief, I loved how David’s ability to read minds was also a bit of a curse as the mind he read was Lestat’s…

I had this sketch sitting around forever so I slapped color on it and here we are! I’m still not 100% with Ragland James’/Lestat’s body (I think he’s too slight of build) but I’m pleased with David, ahahaha.

ok but when is Lestat NOT thinking about banging his fave ppl?

Lestat is my favourite art meme

it’s 3:00 am,

have mercy on me(me)

The last one has transparent background so you can meme together with Lestat. Now that there’s the original screen cap I see how I didn’t even manage to catch the original expression goddammit

But I’m lazy so I’m not going to fix it, forgive me , THankyou & good night!

Can we just have this animated movie already? These look like stills from an animated movie and wE NEEDS IT

Does Anne make it clear how much power the vampires have in the world? Like in terms of economic or political influence, or control of banks or other institutions? It just seems natural that, being so rich and being around for so long, they would gain as much influence as the Freemasons, Rothschilds etc. Thoughts?

As always, #your headcanon may vary, but from my own reading of the books and the characters focused on (the main coven), AR does not make it clear how much power the vampires have in the world* beyond the fact that they’re rich if they want to be (like Armand and Daniel owning and running the luxurious Night Island, a lucrative hotel/entertainment/casino/art-space/etc.), or not (Louis living in a dilapidated shack w/ few physical possessions).

Santino and the Children of Darkness might have had some impact with their religious zealotry, but targeted at the world in more of a negative way, a League of Shadows sort of group. Other vampires, especially the new ones introduced in PL, we don’t know much about their interest in economic or political influence.

Speaking of Louis…

he put the Coven of the Articulate’s stance very eloquently in QOTD (my emphasis added):

[^Louis by @remarried]

“It’s their world, not ours,” he said humbly. “Surely we forfeited it when we lost our mortality. We have no
right now to interrupt their struggle.
If we do we rob them of victories that have cost them too much! Even in
the last hundred years their progress has been miraculous; they have righted wrongs that mankind thought
were inevitable; they have for the first time developed a concept of the true family of man.

… Don’t interfere with them.
Even if they kill each other! Give them time to see this new vision realized; give the cities of the West,
corrupt as they may be, time to take their ideals to a suffering and blighted world.“

Cut for length, not spoilers.

*That was the issue that was brought up in QOTD, whether they had a responsibility to have political power and/or have influence the world or not. There was a council of sorts, and some heavy debate was had, mainly on the part of Lestat’s ultra feminist SJW girlfriend vs. literally everyone else except Lestat who mostly sat there terrified into silence and not taking sides, and it ended with the general agreement that they shouldn’t meddle in mortal affairs.

This is partly bc writing their involvement into actual historical events could be difficult if not impossible (What, did they fight in WWII? Which side? How would that even work, concealing their vampirism from their fellow soldiers??!), and partly bc AR herself wasn’t very political back in earlier canon.

Even now, in the later books, AR keeps her world mostly separate from the Real World; IIRC, Hurricane Katrina was never mentioned in canon, and one would think that NOLA-branch coven founders Louis and Lestat would at least comment on that obviously devastating tragedy. At least one fanfic writer did take up the challenge of weaving in Katrina, and did it very tastefully. So it’s possible, but AR hasn’t gone there.
