Ok, I really need to get that done… I CHANGED THE HEADER JUST FOR YOU, ANON! TODAY! I took out the construction signage and gave the kitty a top hat. He is so dapper now. I’d like to keep him in the new layout somewhere and just change his hat/accessorize him on a regular basis… ANYWAY CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES, behind the screen, w/o signage!
The thing is, the new layout is currently… pastel grunge? More like just pastel. all lighter colors w/ a dark font and IDK how I feel about that. I’m resisting the transition. And my webmistress demands tags on the center bottom of posts and just… I LIKE THEM ON THE SIDE. Don’t you guys prefer them on the side? Like a side of French fries!
I think I need to stick with a similar color scheme and just make the layout more easily navigable. There won’t be fancy animated buttons or anything superfluous like that.
The other obstacle(s) is that I have yet to write up this stuff (and yes, I could put temp pages up, but I’d rather unveil it all at once!):
Nav page w/ all the really good links like “cut scenes.” “For RPers.” “Fanfic.” “Fanart Request,” and analysis/critique of VC so ppl can easily find that stuff.
FAQ for stuff I am frequently asked, and you’d be surprised but I am asked similar questions alot, one common topic is the order in which the books should be read (#order of operations for VC), just as an example.
About – so I could make it perfectly clear how unofficial a VC blog this is! Idk how I’d feel about being officially affiliated or approved by AR in some way… I’d be honored but I’d also worry about how that might limit my freedom of speech/reblogging of things that are critical of VC. We’ll cross that bridge if we ever come to it, and I’ll of course let you all know.

I haven’t seen it yet! But I really should! It comes highly recc’d and the aesthetic is very VC. Ages ago, @painauchocolatine had told me to watch it, and I really will!

YES. WOW. A TV series could cover a lot more ground than one movie or a trilogy/series of movies, and lock in a cast for a long period of time, lots of benefits to that medium! The way TV series seem to invite fan engagement lately is also a factor, whether it’s a negative or a positive is up to how the showrunners handle that… fanservice can be good or bad.
(I got a ton of messages like this in the past few days, catching up on them is like trying to drink from a fire hydrant and I love it, the booksigning last night actually really helped settle my thoughts on it all.)

So this is relatively old news even though it was only 5 days ago that the bomb dropped on us, we’re all reacting in our own way, I’ve seen some of the posts and will be sharing/reblogging them, from what I can tell so far there’s a lot of anticipation, anxiety, support, and also disappointment and what the heck happened w/ Josh Boone?!, the main questions seem to be:
Who is going to join the team now?! and,
Will this adaptation be faithful to the books?!
In answer to these, at the booksigning last night (11/30/16), AR had this to tell us about the new TV series:
It’s been 8 yrs that the adaptation has been in the works in Hollywood, but she didn’t elaborate on what kept it from progressing (AR and CR must know, they’ve probably learned a thing or two about what obstacles lie in their path on this, I feel like they can navigate these things better now than ever before).
Their official VC FB has gotten 2.8 million hits and thousands of shares so far!
AR and CR are writing the pilot episode and a treatment for the first 2 seasons. And it seems like they want to perfect their vision before inviting others onto the team.
Their agents are deluged w/ phone calls from producers and studios who want to talk with AR and CR whenever they’re ready 😀
AR thinks it’s gonna work out this time. She and Christopher recognize that TV and film are collaborative art forms, and there will be compromise, but they will be polite and firm that it’s not gonna happen if it’s not the way they want it to be. <– Appears to be their commitment to be faithful to canon.
This whole book tour is celebratory of them getting the rights back ❤

Your crisis doesn’t seem like that much of a crisis to us. The musician Sting is a fan, I’ve met with him and he’s a lovely person, delicious, too. The creators of this Family Guy show appear to be fans, they had another character in another series dress up as me on their American Dad show. Come to think of it, I, too, am an American Dad!
There seems to be a renewed interest all around with the news of my books being adapted into film, and with the latest novel from our ghostwriter due in a week’s time. Seems like good attention all around, and all I had to do was sit around and wait for it *grins* Louis wants me to add that I’ll take bad attention over no attention, and yes, that’s true, too. Attention is attention! I’ll take it.
What project are you doing on Louis’ book? I hope you’re tearing pages out and making them into origami figures, that would make better use of it… Alright, I’m not being serious… there is some truth in his book; he describes my physical beauty very accurately *smirks*.
