Which songs remind you of the vampire chronicles / characters / pairings ?

Oh gosh. SO MANY.

Well for a little appetizer, Sting’s “Moon Over Bourbon St.” was inspired by IWTV! It’s from Louis’ POV.

And of course there’s “Arsonist’s Lullaby” by Hozier, which reminds me of Louis who kinda has a thing for fire…

“Someone edited R.E.M.’s “Losing My Religion” to be in major instead of minor and it is absurd.” [X] Very much reminds me of Lestat! Give it a listen, be patient w/ it, it’s worth the effort!

I have so many VC feels w/ music, can you be more specific? You might find what you’re looking for here:

  • Music Lestat motorcycles to – Music and music-related things he loves, pics that he might have taken on long rides (like this one), some of which don’t have lyrics that are specifically Lestatuesque, but he gets smtg out of them, whether it be the beats, melodies, singer’s voices, etc.
  • VC Fanmix – fanmixes others have done for certain ships or characters (or mixes that seemed VC-adjacent to me).
  • Music – the larger music tag.

Bonus: Michael Bolton’s “How can we be lovers?” is so L/L!

monsieur le ROCKSTAR: a rock n’ roll playlist for our brat prince  ♛

❝ I was enchanted by the world of rock music – the way the singers could scream of good and evil, proclaim themselves angels or devils, and mortals would stand up and cheer. Sometimes they seemed the pure embodiment of madness.❞

1. anthem for the young and reckless by santa cruz
2. it’s so easy by guns n’ roses
3. so alive by crashdïet
4. shout at the devil by mötley crüe
5. nothin’ but a good time by poison
6. nightrain by guns n’ roses
7. wanted dead or alive by tom cruise and julianne hough
8. cum on feel the noize by quiet riot

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR? (singing starts at 1:38)

Non più andrai, farfallone amoroso/You won’t go any more, amorous butterfly

Notte e giorno d’intorno girando/Fluttering around inside night and day

…Lestat knows this entire song.

Tom does our beloved Lestat so much justice here. That he can be so joyous at such a bizarre moment, to the point of dancing w/ a corpse (especially considering how vampires have little tolerance for even being NEAR dead bodies), really shows how much sunshine he really does have bursting inside him. He’s elated that Louis is FINALLY GETTING IT.

Also, re: *~Butterflies~*

Those 2 dogs Louis kills instead of the gorgeous older lady?

They’re papillons. French for “butterfly.”

That lady even says that and translates for us: “My papillons, my butterflies, you killed them! Ohhh noooo…!” Butterflies go through metamorphosis; so does everyone who gets turned into a vampire in this movie.

And in another matters…. are you listening a band called Lestat? They play something to dark ambient… electro gothic music(?) I don’t know exactly, what kind of music they made, but it souns good, you must try it :)

I am aware of them! They’re on the book of Face if anyone wants to check them out. They have some merch, too. I even reached out to one of them at one point and they responded pretty fast. They seem like nice vampires and worthy of the name.

Apparently they’ve been around for awhile now:

I believe they asked AR’s permission to use the name, even though they didn’t have to.

what was the name of the song that lestat was playing when in the movie when we came back from the swamp , before louis baiscally burned down new Orleans

i-want-my-iwtv:

That would be the Piano Sonata in Eb by Joseph Haydn ;D

WHICH, IIRC, Tom had to actually learn how to play, because we do see a shot of his hands. His version sounds tuned differently than the version below, and if so, that would make sense bc Lestat himself is ~tuned differently~ in this scene.

^Go to 3:18 for the start of Lestat’s piece.

He plays Haydn in that scene because Claudia loved his music. It was a taunt.

wha-? Is that canon or fanon? Lol!

Omg, listening to it now, it’s so cliche! pfffft. Lestat would love it.

It reminds me of this terrible and hilarious mashup, War of the Worlds set to the Benny Hill theme music. Watch if you DARE.

It’s Armand and it’s actually canon and one of my favorite parts to visualize in QotD (although it’s honky-tonk not ragtime, but their styles are related)
I mean, just imagine Daniel waking up to that, looking completely DONE.

It’s update time!
You were right

@i-want-my-iwtv in your assumption that Lestat would love it.

Now go ahead and imagine them dancing to these tunes.

#IT GOT BETTER

Thanks for the update, @luthi69! If anyone is in a bad mood, just TRY and keep that mood with this bouncy happy music on, JUST TRY.

And now I AM imagining Lestat, Daniel, and Armand paying a jazz band to play this all night at a club in NOLA, dancing to it w/ people and having such a good time ❤
