My mom’s friend adopted this lovely dog after he was abandoned by his previous family. His name is Shaun. Shaun had always been very good at eating all his food. Every last bit that was, he ate it. One day he started leaving a little bit behind. He wouldn’t eat everything, no matter what. He always left a little behind. Every morning when my mom’s friend checked Shaun’s bowl, the food was gone. That was very strange, because Shaun always spent the night by her side. One night she decided to investigate the food situation. She waited quietly by the food bowl and then, in the middle of the night, a cat came through the window and ate the remaining food. She noticed the cat was actually pregnant. A week or so later the cat came into her house and gave birth to 6 little kittens. Shaun took care of them as if they were his own babies. My mom’s friend adopted the cat too (her name is Meow) and they took care of the kittens until they all found a loving home. Nowadays Meow and Shaun live happily together as a family and they each have their little bowl of food.
2018 is approaching (three hours more to go where I am, so pls tag your 2018 spoilers) and I decided I want to make a toast.
Not as in toasted bread, of course, the kind of toast with glasses and alcohol. Unless you don’t do the alcohol thing like me, you can have something else. I’m gonna go with sparkling water.

Thank you for giving me backgrounds for every single one of my devices, you are all so brilliant and creative and talented it’s insane, and if it were up to me, you are the artists I would put in the Chronicles. Like, Botticelli? Idk her. But have you seen the VC fandom artists tho? Damn. Idk who the renaissance artists are, but they must have used the VC fanarts for refference. Fight me.
RPers. I need to talk about you. Have you all got any idea how hard it is to explain to my friends why am I squeeling like a piglet when I read your scenes? I am grateful for this lovely bunch of kiddos I had the pleasure of running into here at tumblr. I am grateful for the VC Inktober for giving me a reason not to be salty over my lack of Halloween, for the Secret Santas who gave us all so many beautiful gifts in so many different forms, and to all those wonderful people who make it happen! The mods and admins who take the time to organize so many different people and make sure no one is left w/o their present and who also make presents themselves like yall are actually irl Santas and I love you all so much.

Four people from ALL OVER THIS BITCHASS WORLD getting together T W I C E a month and making time from their actual irl lives to not only discuss for over an hour about the vampires but also edit the podcast, make sure it sounds right and organizing the entire thing with the topics yall gonna go over and sharing with us your points of view and opinions in this beautiful way bc like, it could have just been a blog with four admins but yall went LOL NOPE and made the PODCASTS LIKE DISCUSSING THINGS WITH EACHOTHER WITH YOUR IRL VOICES listen I am very passionate about COI, I will FIGHT GABRIELLE BARE HANDED AND BLINDFOL… ‘k maybe not Gabs, who fucks with her, but you get where I’m going.
Anyways, this got long. What I’m trying to say is that I’m very grateful and happy that I get to share time with you guys. You are all great. I hope you have as good of a year as I did by sharing it with you.

OH GOSH, this looks GREAT!? I love it! I’m smiling like a dork here, I’m so happy to receive such a lovely piece of art done in a charming drawing style..! The shaded areas with textures make a sweet contrast with the smooth chestplate. I like the way you draw eyes and hair, and I’m really impressed how you were able to draw face so well from this angle (I find it really challenging myself, but you did A++ job)! I could go through the whole pic line by line, I have to stop this before it gets out of hand…

Okay but honestly Louis’ favorite modern holiday really is Halloween because he just fucking loves interacting with all the little kids who come up to his door for trick or treating. Like, I’m sure he and Lestat own a home in the suburbs somewhere, and Louis makes sure to buy hella candy (and like, the good candy too- not the cheap ass off-brand kind). He can obviously tell which kids are malnourished, and so he sometimes will give them apples or those little “uncrustables” PB&J sandwiches and send them on their way. The little kids all love his house, and stop there every year- Louis remembers all of them, and enjoys watching them grow each year. For the older kids, he’ll sometimes smile just a little too widely to watch them run from his door, shoving one another wile shouting “Told you so!” or “He’s real!” or “What the hell!” Still, there are loads of kids who he’s handed candy to for over a decade, and as they reach high school, he slowly begins to realize that this might be the last year he sees them- the last year before they become “too cool” to go trick or treating. But every year, he meets a new generation as well, and every now and then he’ll be utterly shocked to find that some of the children he gave candy to all those years ago have grown up and had their own children, and are now on his doorstep with a small child clinging to their leg.
Needless to say, it’s rewarding. The one night of the year that he is a true member of his beloved New Orleans community.
Like, I understand that Louis de Pointe du Lac is a grump and a buzzkill most of the time but he really does love kids- mostly because he misses his own.
