This particular fanart is one of my absolute all-time favorites. The expression florbe achieves here is so strong, the staging of the frames, the subtlety of the colors is perfection, the whole thing tears at your heartstrings almost more than the scene in the book does! Iād love to buy a whole graphic novel in this style ā¤
So I had posted this a million (three) years ago, back before this blog was this blog, back when it wasĀ āmannimations,ā and that was before I knew how to link things in a nice way, but more relevant than belitting my former lack of etiquette is that at that time, this image was hosted on florbe91ās deviantart page.Ā
Since then, she has taken it down, and many other of her VC fanarts, for her own reasons. There are a few still there if you look for them, a fraction of what had been posted. She took the rest down for her own reasons, none of which were bc of AR.
The primary reason Iām writing this now and reblogging smtg that she took down, against my own policy, is to let you know why I try not to reblog her VC fanart* when I see it on my dash currently. As much as I absolutely adore it, I respect her choice not to share it.
Secondly, when you see fanart that you adore, download it! Keep it for your own private records. Artists can remove things at any time, and there may not be any warning. Iām an artist, and I have removed posts from here.Ā
*The exception to my rule is if the fanart in question is publicly available (at the time of reblogging) on her deviantart or tumblr, in which case it seems to be okay to share, or in this case where Iām making a general note.
From the fans who fell into VC since before my time, to the fresh blood (heh heh) who are just wading into it w/ us now, youāve all made my tumblr experience so rich, I canāt even properly express how blown away I am on a daily basis how many of you send me such lovely messages and intriguing asks, and fanart, etc. and justā¦ how, with your input, this blog has become the blog I wanted to find for all the years I searched for one. Thank you all for laying your affections w/ me over this pile of dysfunctional vampires!

BC of my absence this week I couldnāt reblog this ;A; so Iām extending it a bit longer, and throwing in 3 IWTV DVDs! Theyāre US-formatted, so NTSC.
^I am cry, just wanted to explain my lack of communication this past week, and what a week to be forced AWOL. The very week weāre hit w/ such massive news and I couldnāt be there for you! Iāve abandoned my ppl!
Iām making my way back to you, and will get to my inbox āasap as possibleā (as Michael Scott would say, hehehe).Ā
In the meantime, my forced absence resulted in a short post-PL fic {Bad Connection} which was betaād by @cloudsinvenice and @gairid, it has Daniel in it, so thereās that.

Last week, some images werenāt loading for me on pplās pages and archives (including my own, which I had initially assumed was the weird layout revert that tumblr had done to my blog and others; or an xkit malfunction), so after a little investigation, seems like my place of work has upped their blocking parameters *ugly cries* Welp, I thought, guess Iāll have to limit my tumbling to outside of work.
^Canāt do that, I was just sitting there on the sidelines watching all the stuff happen on my dash on my phone this week and just… by the time I get home Iām often too tired to do any more computering so… Listen,Ā I am a sinner plz let me sin it is important for my productivity to be able to sin simultaneously.Ā
So for the time being, Iām going to try to deal with this limited tumbling until my place of work ups their blocking parameters further. Weāll burn that bridge when we come to it (as Louis would say, hehehe).

Tumblr has done something and my theme is currently even crappier than before ;A; I apologize for the inconvenience. I might risk trashing the site by putting in the new HTML code sooner than I planned, so you might want to reblog things from me to save stuff just in case.
Graphics that are watermarked w/ my url are mines, I also use other pplās graphics/gifs and include the sources*.
I use a legal version of adobe photoshop to manipulate images and compress gifs, and a legal version of premiere to make video edits and pull footage for gifs.Ā
I donāt know of free programs to recc, ppl can feel free to reblog/comment w/ suggestions on that. Iām wary of freeware bc viruses ;A;

I didnāt watermark the images above bc theyāre both screencaps, even though I did some manipulation to Claudiaās drawing to flip it and take her hand out. I decide whether to watermark based on how much Iām adding to it and/or how potentially offensive it is, so when itās not edited very much or itās pushing the envelope of offense, I donāt watermark it.Ā
*If all Iām doing is taking a gif someone else made from the movie and brightening it I usually donāt watermark or source it. The reason I donāt source those is that I am adding something to them, but since itās just frames from the movie, it doesnāt really belong to either of us.Ā

This is one of my all-time fave fanarts of Nicki/Lestat ā¤ i just want to buy a whole graphic novel in this beautiful heartfelt style is that so much to ask *cries*
Some ppl loved Lestat the Musical, and more power to them! I am jealous of them. IDKĀ if you saw the SF version or NYC version, live or video of it, butĀ I saw the NYC version live and I did not like it. I partially blame the NYC producers for that, bc they apparently stripped out alot of the flair and gay stuff, maybe they were afraid it was pushing the envelope too far? But isnāt that what theatre is supposed to do? *sigh*

Sadly, I mostly feel second-hand embarrassment for Lestat the Musical bc I made the mistake of inviting my cousin to go w/ me. She was not in the fandom, and she was uncomfortable the whole time *facepalm* Idk I thought sheād be into it, but the NYC version we saw was stripped so bare, and there was little to engage with. I canāt even listen to the soundtrack! It just brings me back to how disappointed I was in the bareness of the production, at the whole audienceās lack of enthusiasmā¦ much cry, very sad.
So I have to be cautiously optimistic about the adaptation in the works and hope that they considered Lestat the Musical and can avoid its pitfalls.
Yeah, same here! (except that I donāt look like him at all *cries*) We can go along with him on his journey and gather the reasons for our own philosophical choices and see the mistakes and why he made them, and ask ourselves what we would have done differently, or the same, in his position.
He does have flaws, for sure. Flaws that could spiral anyone into depression. But his lust for life overrides everything ā¤
And I think part of why we all love him against our own better judgment is that even when he royally fracks up, he gets back up, dusts himself off, and careens into the next car.Ā
