Look, I know I got several of these, and was very flattered… 

Send this to the 12 nicest people who you know or seem to have a good heart. If you get five back then you must be pretty awesome! 💖 (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*✧💕✨💜✧

But as I’m trying to spread the love and send these out, myself, I feel bad that I can’t send them to everyone. I’m only human. I only have so much free time. And I feel bad bc I think messages like these inevitably make ppl feel left out when they see them flying around and they don’t receive any 😛

I mean sending them to the “nicest” people? or “seem to have a good heart”? What does that mean to ppl who don’t receive any? Who defines “nicest” and “good heart”?

So this is why my old policy for these kinds of messages was to answer privately and not resend them around, and tbh, I should probably have kept to that. I’ve sent out a ton of these now and I feel guilty that I haven’t sent out more. 

Please don’t feel bad if you don’t receive these from me or anyone else, and don’t feel pressured to send them along, they were probably started by someone with friendly intentions in mind. “The road to hell is paved with good intentions,” as they say.

If you want to keep the positivity going, send someone an ask that you write yourself, like, “I love your art!” or “I dig your aesthetic!” then add 💖 (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*✧💕✨💜✧  bc it’s cute.

here’s some info on what it may do to your computer and here are some potential ways to fix it

just to date this post, the above articles are from may 23, 2018 and may 24, 2018, respectively. this is still going on, and as of these dates microsoft has not found a fix. here’s another article from may 24, 2018 that describes the problem and links to a list of ways to delay getting the update until they patch it.

sometimes old posts about bad pc updates circulate on this site months or even years after they’re defunct, THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE TIMES!!! please be careful guys, there are reports of machines being bricked by this update 😦

yeah no this is legit, it fucking made my computer unbootable, I’ve been struggling to get a back up up for days now

Just in case, for those who don’t know how to stop your Windows 10 computer from auto-updating w/o your permission; you need to do the following steps.

go to Control Panel>View large icons>Admistrative tools>Services>Scroll down and find Windows Update>Double click>Stop the current session>click Manuel or Disable from the drop down>Apply

You should also right-click the Windows Update entry and change the Startup type to Manual; it will never install an update without consent.

Also, go to Windows 10 Settings (click the Windows icon or open the Start Menu and click the gear icon in the lower left), go to Updates & Security, then Advanced Options. You can Pause Updates for up to 35 days, which should allow enough time for Microsoft to come up with a patch for this.

Be warned, this update (and presumably any patch they create to fix the problem) will remove HomeGroup from Windows 10. If you rely on this functionality, you will be screwed.

SO HEY GUYS!!!!!

I know that in internet land we all get like, fundraiser fatigue. I don’t reblog every link I see because I would never be able to keep up. 

However, this is an old friend of mine who’s been in a shitty abusive relationship for years and it’s just getting really scary. He controls her bank account so we’re having to do this in secret–we have some third parties available to get the money to her when it’s time so that he doesn’t intercept. But he’s getting increasingly violent and this shit needs to fucking stop.

Oh gosh, sorry for the frustration, and I’m not really helping in the sense that my commitment to proper tagging kind of crapped out in March of this year and I’ve only recently got back in the habit 😛

I scrolled through my entire archive and couldn’t quite find a match to the criteria. From what you’re describing, it sounds like art by @sacetcendre​, which I reblog sometimes bc it’s gorgeous! But I don’t think they draw VC fanart specifically. Check out their archive.

If it’s not them, give me more info… Any other characters in the fanart? Flowers? Blood? Is it drawn or a photomanip of a real person? Cosplay maybe?

hurricane irma had a devastating impact on the caribbean islands which were in its path. the people of these islands really need support at this time, as they lack the degree of governmental aid that other countries have and will rely a whole lot on foreign help. so here’s a list of charities that you can donate to if you want to help out those islands. any donation can seriously make such a huge difference.

  • habitat for humanity (their donations page allows you to select which location you want your donation to go towards. ‘latin america & the caribbean’ is one of the options)
  • globalgiving (a crowdfunding project which is trying to raise money for those affected; there is a goal of $2 million and the money will be distributed amongst local organizations)
  • direct relief (you can specify where you would like your donation to go to here – hurricane irma is one of the options)
  • heart to heart international (also has an option for hurricane irma relief donations)
  • convoy of hope (they currently have a current focus on the islands, particularly haiti)
  • save the children (this links specifically to the hurricane irma relief fund)
  • the red cross has a very negative history in the caribbean; i can’t confidently recommend donating to them during this time. instead, donate to an organization that will put your donation to proper use

if you are unable to donate, please, please be sure to keep the affected islands in your thoughts (and prayers if applicable), and make an effort to bring awareness to the organizations which can help them out. thanks everyone!

^I am cry, just wanted to explain my lack of communication this past week, and what a week to be forced AWOL. The very week we’re hit w/ such massive news and I couldn’t be there for you! I’ve abandoned my ppl!

I’m making my way back to you, and will get to my inbox “asap as possible” (as Michael Scott would say, hehehe). 

In the meantime, my forced absence resulted in a short post-PL fic {Bad Connection} which was beta’d by @cloudsinvenice and @gairid, it has Daniel in it, so there’s that.

Explanation for my absence under the cut.

Last week, some images weren’t loading for me on ppl’s pages and archives (including my own, which I had initially assumed was the weird layout revert that tumblr had done to my blog and others; or an xkit malfunction), so after a little investigation, seems like my place of work has upped their blocking parameters *ugly cries* Welp, I thought, guess I’ll have to limit my tumbling to outside of work.

^Can’t do that, I was just sitting there on the sidelines watching all the stuff happen on my dash on my phone this week and just… by the time I get home I’m often too tired to do any more computering so… Listen, I am a sinner plz let me sin it is important for my productivity to be able to sin simultaneously. 

So for the time being, I’m going to try to deal with this limited tumbling until my place of work ups their blocking parameters further. We’ll burn that bridge when we come to it (as Louis would say, hehehe).

Short answer: Yes, fanfic is okay now. AR now “ignores fanfiction.” That’s her current stance. We don’t have her approval, we have her tolerance. Not sure exactly when that happened (but there are timestamps in my FB screencaps below).

*~And AO3 has pledged itself as a safe haven* for fanfic writers to post their works!~*

*meaning: AO3 will attempt to defend the writers against copyright infringement claims. The legality of fanfic is nebulous right now, as the courts are slowly defining fanworks under the Fair Use doctrine on a case-by-case basis.

In her comments below, AR seems to compare her inspiration of Hollywood’s vampire movies made in the ‘40s as being similar to Anna Todd’s inspiration re: the boy band 1D. In a way, AR is saying what we all know that writers ARE influenced by outside sources, in various media; Anna Todd’s work cannot be simply written off (no pun intended) as purely derivative fanfiction of 1D just like AR’s work cannot be simply written off as purely derivative fanfiction of Hollywood’s vampire movies made in the ‘40s. 

Not that anyone has accused AR of that that I’m aware of, but it might have been an issue raised in 1975 when IWTV first came out.
