(Let’s assume I don’t get to choose or stay w/ my maker, and I don’t get to choose to be w/ the VC characters bc then this answer would be impossibly long. I’ll respond to those aspects in separate posts if anyone is interested.)

What would I do with my immortality? SO MANY. Vampiring: I would probably be the slayer of the evildoer, cheesy as it sounds it’s pretty reasonable, following in Lestat’s footsteps, but I’d also want to try wild animals like his mom does… I would write all about it, for sure. Every power and every limitation. The killing part of it would probably be tedious some nights and I would complain about having to go to those seedy places for my victims, and I would probably get into situations that would be somewhat out of my control and get shot in the back and I’d come home and complain about it even louder while my mom extracts the bullet fragments and stitches me back up and says “I told you so,” in so many words. “What, what did you tell me, Mom?” “Be careful what you wish for, obviously.” idk if I would turn my parents but it would be hard not to bc I love them.

We’re assuming I figure out the financial aspect bc currently I do not spend enough time and energy on that… I would need a good cash flow to support my adventures and artistic pursuits. I’d commission artists of all kinds, I’d maybe put together a studio collective, let ppl work at night with me or they could work during the day, I don’t really mind, as long as their work gets done. Probably have multiple projects of different kinds going on at any given time.

I wish I could say I would work on social justice causes, and maybe I would. I wouldn’t want the kind of exposure that might make me a target though, so if I did try to make the world a better place, it would be through my studio’s works, or financial support, or some other private way.

Companions? Idk… I’d like to think I could find someone to spend eternity with but that’s hard, ppl do change. I’d probably be better off as Armand has advised, finding another pre-fabricated vampire, rather than making my own companion.

So I was at the eye doctor today and I was wondering for the sake of it- Lestat getting his eyes checked and boasting he’s got the best eyes in the world but when it comes down to it he’s got imperfect vision and needs to walk out with glasses and tears in his eyes dramatically begging Louis to say it isn’t true.

Lol he would be the BIGGEST crybaby about that! He’d probably think of himself as deformed in some way and need even more cuddling and ego-stroking to get over it.

Considering vampire physiology, some things are “corrected” by the Dark Gift. All of their senses become enhanced. Gabrielle got a nice rack lift.

It won’t regrow some missing parts, like eyes (Maharet), a leg (Flavius), or a cut-out tongue (Mekare). I’m not sure as to whether vision would be corrected. 

Lestat didn’t mention his vision being an issue, and he would have needed good vision to be a good hunter as a mortal, maybe not 20/20, but good enough. It’s interesting to consider, tho!

…And then, he did lose an eye at one point, and I like to headcanon that even though he got it back, that eye was never quite the same.

Lestat does have a dream about going back to the Auvergne and turning his whole family into vampires, infants included D-: Other than that, no other mention in canon and not in any interview or book signing I’ve heard of. Maybe my followers know? Interesting question!

My thoughts on it under the cut in case of too gorey for some ppl. But in short, I don’t think that the baby would become a vampire, bc it REALLY couldn’t fend for itself. Claudia was a child but at least she could had mental capacity, could talk, was ambulatory, and had teeth that could be transformed into fangs.

(I don’t think I’ve seen any vampire babies in any other media EXCEPT for the one in Twilight, she had rapid growth or smtg? It was confusing.)

I’d think that any unborn child would be, sadly, dumped along with the other organs and materials the new fledgling doesn’t need or can’t use as a vampire. Even if the mortal is turned before giving birth past/on their due date. If the infant survived that forcible removal, I think it would either (A) still be mortal or (B) die… bc I think the mortal has to be at some level of development for the vampiric parasite to take hold. 

Maybe that’s why we don’t have vampire dogs/cats/etc., bc whatever parts they’re missing, an infant would be missing those, too. A brain development thing maybe? I don’t know!

Kinda crazy that ppl think Louis is delicate, yeah he’s pretty but how can one forget him murdering a theatre full of ppl or that unlike most of our vampire friends hes the one that kills indiscriminately. I think ppl forget that Louis is just as passionate and vengeful as Lestat, it’s just that he isn’t as vocal or showy about it. He’s more intimate and intense. Anyway, great Louis discourse, nice to see ppl with similar thoughts!

I think ppl forget that Louis is just as passionate and vengeful as Lestat, it’s just that he isn’t as vocal or showy about it. He’s more intimate and intense.

IKR? It took planning to kill a theatre full of older vampires who had honed their vampiry gifts. Louis does get pushed around, but he learns from it, and he comes back with a strategy. Lestat’s more of an impulse fighter. 

And yes, Louis kills indiscriminately, which is scarier bc there’s nothing you can do to avoid it other than to not cross his path. At least you know you’re safe form Marius or Lestat as long as you’re not a certifiable Evildoer™

It warms my heart to see the fandom active, too! It’s always been waves of more or less engagement, but recently there does seem to be something of a renaissance. If the VCTV series happens, we’ll probably have even more engagement!

#InktoberVC and the @vcsecretgifts exchange both stimulated great fanworks, I’m planning on setting aside a chunk of time to go through and reblog those Dec. gifts here (I haven’t had a chance to read all the fics yet!) ❤ I’m hoping that more calls for fanworks get rolling in 2018, too, and I’ll make an effort to promote them. We can’t wait 9 months until the next #InktoberVC ;D

In this world in a time when we’re on the brink of nuclear war bc of reasons I can’t attempt to tackle on a blog for entertainment and there are people in power tirelessly dedicated to stripping away our rights one by one, people

determined to widen the class divide, people dehumanizing other real life people, and there is unpunished crime on a daily basis, I come here for an escape and to offer the same to anyone who likes this blog.

Your recent post made me wonder – if Lestat is bad with technology like he says in the most recent book, do you think someone had to teach him how to set up a facebook account? Louis trying to show him the difference between the search bar and the status bar after he accidentally posted someone’s name for all to see? So many questions.

So the first time I ever saw this was when a friend copied it to a Facebook VC page, and I knew that whoever had done it was freaking brilliant. Now I can say with first-hand authority that this is true.

Awww, thanks dear! *hugs* I am proud of my old VC Failbook posts. There weren’t many but they were quality.

FYI to y’all: I actually visited @sanguinivora in brick space (real life!) a few weeks ago, proper post to follow. She put me up for Halloween and I got a special bookie wook from Powell’s, gotta post about that, too… Absorbed a whole lot of her ideas about the adaptation, @sanguinivora is one of my main theatre expert advisors here, specializing in 4th wall breakage, lol.

Amazing how fandom can being ppl together! ❤

//ooc; I’ve thought about this for awhile now, it’s been almost a month 😛 and I think it’s a little unfair of my Lestat to answer, bc he’s clearly going to like what I like, to some extent! And my taste is fairly limited bc I don’t keep up with what’s popular, I tend to wait out the hype and then discover things on my own 5-10 years later, and then I’ll go, “Have you heard Crazy by Gnarls Barkley?? It’s mah jam :DDD” And my best friend will pat me on the shoulder and go “Honey that was 11 yrs ago.” *laughcries*

[X] With @roselioncourt‘s help on our REAL LIFE visit last wknd, we made a rough list of bands/artists we think Lestat would love, and I’ll reblog this post with that list, as I don’t have it with me rn, but basically, I think he’s very into the performance aspect of it, the stage presence, and he’s into pop culture, he’d probably keep up with the current music scene, the top 100, what albums are selling, etc. He also likes to do covers of his fave songs and make variations to “improve” them ;D

I try not to post selfies too often bc it feels like… not really VC y’know?
