“Lestat’s name doesn’t mean anything. It is a name that I made up. I search hard and long for names that are unique, and Lestat is, in a way, a mistake. There is an old French name in Louisiana, "Lestan”, and my husband’s name is Stan, and I thought I was using the old French name when I wrote Lestat . It was only later that I realized I had added a “t” for an “n”, and created a name that didn’t exist, so you might call it a Freudian slip. Lestat was definitely like Stan. So, Sybelle! A rare one for ppl to ask about and rarely chosen for RP. I remember there was @sybelle-the-appassionata, but it looks like they’re on hiatus. There was also @play-the-appassionata, looks inactive now, but their archive might have smtg for you!
I don’t really have positive or negative feelings towards her, but in light of later canon, she’s become more solid, more believable, and I do hope AR develops her some more. There’s more to Sybelle than being ANOTHER beautiful blonde woman-child, and having a name of Greek derivation; Sybelle means “prophetess, oracle.” Does she foresee things in canon? Not so much, IIRC, but maybe that has yet to happen.

In fact I think the comparison is more than reasonable; Sybelle also seemed isolated in a tower, and further isolated herself with her obsession with the piano, specifically, Beethoven’s Appassionata.
We have Sybelle to thank for waking Lestat from his coma, so I set my alarm to one of the stronger sections of the Appassionata,
you really cannot ignore it or shut it out, and it’s NOT the most pleasant thing to wake up to. It works though, it really works. IT COULD WAKE THE DEAD. I had to change it after a few weeks, but try it!
Just try and tell me that Valentina Lisitsa isn’t basically Sybelle, just look at her! She’s just older.

Okay, I know that I already submitted stuff to you before, but I think I have discovered something really cool. It seems to me that it’s the original script for the movie. However, I have not dug deep research into it.
Anyways, it’s very VERY morbid compared to the movie and in some parts is more like the book (and others, especially in the beginning, aren’t but are intriguing??).
@i-want-my-iwtv replied: Yes! I’m aware of this version of the script, April 1992, second draft (allegedly, but I bet there were a lot more drafts). Pretty easy to find, and this is the one that is probably most commonly printed out for the actors to sign, when you see autographed copies up on eBay.
It is a really fun read, even w/ the slightly ooc dialogue at times, but I can understand that AR was trying to shoehorn in as much canon as she could and I can’t fault her for that goal! And yes, it includes scenes that didn’t make it into the final cut. Some weren’t even filmed 😛
It has little gems in it like the names of Louis’ wife and child who died:
“DIANNE DE POINTE DU LAC 1763 – 1791 INFANT JEAN MARIE – 1791”
^Dianne would have been a little older than Louis, if she died at 28 ;A; And really, “DiANNE”? Nice author cameo, AR. Very smooth ;]

No, that’s not being “that” person at all! What IS being “that” person is being all overly offended at someone else’s pronunciation, so before I answer I’ll just remind y’all that these are fictional characters, there’s no right way to pronounce them, I don’t care if you have a master’s degree in Etymology and/or Linguistics, named your pet/child after them, have a friend with the same name, even if you are the creator of the series, anyone is free to pronounce these names however they want.
Amadeo- “ah-mah-DAY-oh” or “ah-MAD-eeyo,” I sorta use both.
Khayman- “Kay-men”
Mekare- “mee-CARE” or “mek-ARRAY,” personally, I prefer the first option.
Maharet- “maha-RET” (emphasis on the last syllable like “Margaret”), or “MAH-harret” (emphasis on the first syllable), or “muh-HAH-ret” (emphasis on the second syllable). Personally, I prefer the last option.

Marius- “MAH-reeyus” or “MARE-eeyus,” I tend to prefer the second option.
Lestat- Despite AR’s explicit instructions that it be pronounced “Less-DOT” with emphasis on the second syllable, I can’t do that, it sounds too clunky for me. I think it’s more like “Less-TAT,” second syllable like “cat,” or “Less-STAH,” as in “star” without the “r.“ I prefer the “cat” version. More discussion on his name here.
Lestat here. I want to answer this question from Zaira Maranelli:
