1 thing i want to know about u: When/How were u first introduced to the VC?

vampire-chronicles-appreciation:

When I was around ten or so (not too sure on the specifics) one of my father’s coworkers was getting rid of a lot of books (it was due to lack of interest or something I’m not too sure why they were giving so many away). Anyway, I have always loved books so I decided to take some and I came out with 1-5 in the VC (not to mention several other Rice books like Vittorio and Taltos) and I just go into them after that point.

Awww, good story. I still get nostalgic when I see battered copies of the VC (or any AR books) on those $1 swap shelves at libraries, and I imagine buying a box full and poisoning enlightening a new reader to the addiction such fine literature

You’re what keeps this half-undead fandom alive and on its toes, and usually laughing.

mon dieu! ♥♥♥ thank uuuu such kind words, much appreciate!! ♥♥♥  the feels, they are mutual *attack hugs*

So glad to know my own VC addiction is enjoyed and shared by others.

It’s so encouraging to get messages like these. I hope this blog continues to live up to the high expectations it has set *u*

“The VC fandom has easily the best approach to the problematic aspects of canon I’ve ever seen from any fandom I’ve been in.”

There are a ton of problematic aspects in this canon, and it’s been so good to watch (and participate sometimes) when our fandom ppl have public discussions considering these problematic aspects within the context of the times those things take place in, the (subconcious and conscious) motivations of the characters, etc., in a thoughtful and respectful manner to canon and eachother.

One of the reasons I love fiction in general is that it offers “to hold as ‘twere the mirror up to nature,” as Shakespeare put it (Hamlet). Fiction can be considered a speculative reality in which we can have problematic things happen and see them play out fully, to better examine why they happen, and how they might be prevented in the future.

Sometimes when I go hundreds pages deep into people’s Tumblr archives, I find really funny posts and I weigh the pros and cons of liking/reblogging them.

Pros: I’ll have access to them later because they’re fucking hilarious

Cons: They might think I’m creepy. Despite the fact that it’s public and on the Internet, it is not socially acceptable to let anyone know the extent that you creeped their archives.

I hereby extend blanket permission for anyone to creep on my archive, and to like and reblog posts from it if they want to. It’s really quite flattering.

Sometimes I look over my blog, all the haring off in different directions and different fandoms, and think, “Good lord, what a trash pile.  I mean, it’s my trash pile and I love it, but.”

Other times I look at my collection of shiny things and think, “Yesssss, this is what the internet is for, welcome to my hoard.” like I’m a dragon curled up on my pile of gold.

^TRUTH. I feel this way too. WELCOME TO MY GOLD TRASH WHATEVER THIS IS.

i-want-my-iwtv is such a beautiful human being. Her gifs and posts are just HILARIOUS! I love when she RP’s as Lestat, it’s always a joy to see and interact with. It’s great to see her opinion and perspective on things that she includes when answering asks.”
