• like literally viago is pure as heck
• the actors are awesome
• they have jemaine clement ( vladislav ) who also voice acts as tamatoa from moana
• also taika waititi ( viago ) who directed this movie, eagle vs shark, boy and hunt for the wilderpeople
• 99% of the movie was improv
• the movie’s funny as hell
• its filmed like a documentary?????? isn’t that cool or what?????
• “werewolves not swear-wolves”
• there’s a video on “funny or die” where viago and vladislav explain truths about vampires
• all the characters make you want to hUG THEM

once upon a time young young teenage me used to write fan fiction like my life depended on it, new fics every week and I had no idea there was someone out there printing out my fics and putting them in a box to read when they needed something to cheer them up
anyways fast forward to 20 year old me on my third date with Emily and she mentions offhand that she’s got this box of fic she printed out and saved
it’s a few months later after that and she shows me one of the fics in the box and holy shit that’s my garbage fic from so long ago
anyways my point is life is a fucking trip my dude
i still remember when we found this out. i don’t think either of us stopped yelling for hours

I feel this video was more successful than the companion video, 40 Years of Women’s Goth Style. This one felt less costume-y, and more authentic.
Also, I predictably covet the shirt, coat, and cape from the 90s vampire look. My cliches, I embrace them.
I was hesitant, but yeah, this felt so much more natural than the women’s one did; save for the cyber punk and some of the make up on the death rock one, this is more of what I’ve actually witnessed (….though I’ve only been in the sub-culture a decade, and only aware of it for a little more than that)
