What’s in a name? A lot when we’re talking about Armand from The Vampire Chronicles. In The Vampire Armand, Armand breaks down his life for you. However I like to break down his novel/life into 3 parts according to his given names:
Andrei (Given by his Father: Ivan)
Amadeo (Given to him by his Master: Marius)
Armand (Given to him by his fellow Coven member aka Child Of Darkness: Allesandra)
I’m not sure if you’re referring to Antonio!Armand specifically but u probably are, and I know, I know… he is the fandom’s punching bag, I KNOW.
But consider perusing my #defending Antonio tag, where you will find my theories as to why they cast smne who isn’t remotely trying to be physically similar to the character described in the book (except for his wardrobe maybe?). His acting was still very true to the character so give him some credit for that. Very seductive of Louis. But yeah, Denis (played by
Louis Xavier Lewis-Smith) looks more like Armand should have looked:
The biggest reason for Antonio!Armand being that I think AR merged Santino and Armand for that movie bc of reasons. So treat him like Santino and that should lessen the pain *hugs*
i’m more talking about louis (havent encountered armand yet lol). louis’s acting is perfect but like appearance and voice wise he’s just not what i pictured in my head at all. im kinda iffy on lestat too, although he’s growing on me as the movie goes on.

[X] ^Also on this VC casting note, some ppl have suggested Paul Boche as Lestat and I have resisted it, but seeing him w/ Miles McMillan here, it’s very Louis & Lestat, oui?They look like they have really good chemistry and that matters more to me than looks alone w/ acting *u*
Y’know, I’ve seen him in the MCU movies and not a lot else, so when I googled him I was pleasantly surprised to find the gifs below.
But before we get to Stan, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so if he works for you, that’s totes fine!
For meeeee, however… I’m not sure about him playing Louis bc my heart is pretty set on someone I would consider more sinewy, like Miles McMillan (BTW he paints, sometimes does amazing self-portraits! Check out @fuckyeahmilesmcmillan, there are nude pics of him there, too *u*), someone w/ a more narrow face shape w/ these defined cheekbones that are almost feminine:
^Lestat forced him to replace his decaying sweater w/ a jacket to go out but couldn’t get him to put on a t-shirt first.
Whoever they cast as Louis should bear some resemblance to whoever they cast as Nicolas, bc they are described as being similar in appearance (and attitude to some extent!), but I would imagine Louis as being slimmer and more delicate-looking, since he was in pretty bad physical shape when Lestat found him, a combination of malnourishment and excessive alcohol and picking fights w/ whoever would fight him ;A;
^Plus, his sass is a more gentlemanly brand, he has a dignified way of shooting Lestat down.
Stan is built more sturdy, his facial structure is a little wider, seems more like Nicolas in my mind. And I think he’s played non-straight characters before so I think he’d be willing to do that here, too ^_______^
Difficulty: I bet he is SO FRICKIN EXPENSIVE NOW like damn! ANYWAY LETS FANTASIZE…

The fact that this book exists at all is too funny, but the VC version of it is… just… besides, Gabrielle “Ew Don’t Call Me ‘Mother’” de Lioncourt is partially at fault here okay???! And Lestat, your Oedipus is showing…
btw that’s Armand in the doorway… the real reason Lestat wouldn’t let him join them…
