Yes, I think maker’s day gifts would be gr9, we get a lot of great fanworks for the @vcsecretgifts exchanges ❤ Having gifts collected on that page is really good bc it’s just for that, one easy archive rather than have things mixed into my stuff. Ppl are always welcome to submit things to me as gifts to the fandom or specific ppl!

– or even characters! Send a gift to my Lestat or another RPer’s muse! ♥u♥

I had recently sent around a post asking if ppl were interested in a Spring exchange, and we got some good response on it publicly and privately, so I think we will proceed with it ^_____^

Maker’s Day should fall between Mother’s and Father’s Day, which would be June 1, but I’m away on a trip (JAPAN!) then, so it would be better if I was here to comoderate it, so next year, maybe June 1, but this year, I’m thinking April 1 or May 1. Would that work for ppl?

Psssst: I’m extremely picky about the ones I make, so for every vampire meme you see, there are like 3-5 rejected ideas, bc I only want to spend the time making them if the idea itself gives me a visceral reaction or at least an internal giggle first 😉

Back in September I bought cheap used copies of all the Vampire Chronicles (and New Tales) for myself so that I could reread them in time for PLatRoA. And I wrote in them and stuff. It was pretty fun. I crammed all 14 books in 10 weeks and it was PRETTY EXHILARATING. 

So anyway, for as long as it interests me, watch this space as I flip through them again and make posts of quotes and passages that I enjoyed. 🙂

I’ve been wanting to do this myself for the longest time!! Do the different colors of highlighted passages mean anything? 🙂

I was mostly just using the pink primarily (sometimes I switched to green because I went through like 4 packs of highlighters and tbh Marius is a Highliter Ruiner and I kept running the pink ones out), but I’d switch to blue if I wanted to extra emphasize something in the paragraph, or I’d switch back and forth with pink & blue if there were two paragraphs/sentences back to back that I wanted to highlight for different reasons, like I found each section to be a complete idea etc. Then I saved purple for EXTRA IMPORTANT STUFF. 

It was really fun and enlightening and definitely heightened my enjoyment of these stories. Plus like, I’ll be honest, not every step of the way was the most academic endeavor, because I was highlighting and noting a mix of “This is really important to the plot and this character” and “THIS GIVES ME THE LOLS”

Hello! Do you recall if there is ever any reason given on why Mael didn’t survive the sun stunt although Armand, who is much much younger did? If Anne ever explained it I didn’t catch it. I love your blog by the way and you seem to be a lovely person <3

Y’know, I don’t think it was ever explained in canon! We’ve had a few Mael RPers over the years who might have have a good answer for you… @thevampiremael, @maelgallia come to mind. Other RPers, or anyone else, are welcome to comment/reblog w/ ideas on this.

Mael had been turned (pretty soon after Marius was turned) by Avicus, another God of the Wood who had survived the Great Fire. Even if Avicus had done a bad job turning him or had recently turned other fledglings, that shouldn’t have been a factor in Mael’s vulnerability to sunlight so many years later, since Mael was old enough to have earned some durability on his own. The only answer I can think of rn is that Mael’s combusted remains were further destroyed by frightened mortals who saw it happen? Idk! It’s an answer I’d like to have.

That’s so sweet of you (I’m very touched!), that you were worried about me bc I wasn’t posting! Rest assured, I have a big queue, so if this blargh ever stops posting… then you can worry.

Save anything you want from me though, bc I worry about this current administration in the US and whether it will have an impact on net neutrality. There might come a day night in which Lestat making a nice fresh glass of rat blood for his very picky eater of a fledgling could be considered inappropriate *cries* 

Anyway, I appreciate the heck out of you all… but I don’t mind losing followers. It happens, I don’t take it personally. If you don’t want to see my posts in your dash, Unfollow me for awhile, or permanently, it’s totes fine. If I lost all my followers tomorrow, I’d still be doing my thing, but I had no idea that having followers would make this so much more fun ❤
