anaryawe said: Thanks for the morning laugh at Lestat’s foot fetish! Is that based on a fic or just your own thought?

Nope, not from a fic, just my own thoughts! I’m glad u like 😉

Keep in mind that headcanons are the sparkling seeds of fic, the plot points on which a story can be woven around. Wouldn’t you love to read it fleshed out? I’d love to write it! But now it’s out there, and anyone can write it, and when they do, I won’t be able to write mine, because it won’t be “original” anymore… :-  *siiigh*

Just felt like explaining my reluctance to share these ideas, before I can write them up properly… but I AM glad you liked it!

What was the most arousing moment you’ve ever experienced Lestat?

“My— What an intrusive question,  étranger gris. But I shall humour you none the less…” Lestat paused and tapped at his chin thoughtfully, a low hum rising from his chest. “I imagine I’m not allowed to use any blood sampling moments, as there are far too many and that would be an easy answer—” his grin turned devious as his eyes bored into the stranger’s own…

”I would have to say it was the night I allowed a delightful mademoiselle to put her corset on me. How it tightened and constricted was glorious and suffocating. I looked like ‘pure sex’ according to her as she added more to my “ensemble”. By the end of it I was dressed up more like a tart than she and it was exhilarating. I let her live after that moment and frequented her regularly for those games of ours. It’s a pity she died three months later at the hands of a violent pick pocket.”

What are some of your favorite Lestat facts and head canons? (Book and IWTV movie versions)

Are you the same Anon who asked me this a month ago? Why ask me when there are perfectly wonderful Lestat RPers who have full writeups about him, as well? I’ve listed them again at the end of this post.

I have alot of headcanons, and really, these are the seeds for fic/RPs. Headcanons come from canon, author interviews, and fanfic/RP. When they come from fanfic/RP, it’s ideas that fans have developed to answer the gaps left in canon, so they’re kind of preciously guarded until they are written into fic and released that way.

Go to my headcanon accepted tag for headcanons of others that I’ve agreed with ;] but gdi you twisted my arm, so here’s a little peek into my own headcanons… in general strokes. I wouldn’t say favorites. Just ideas that are floating around, begging to be written as fic. They apply to book!Lestat more than movie!Lestat, I guess.

  • Lestat’s birthday is November 7. This is undisputed. He always acts like he couldn’t care less, but if nothing happens that night, he’s wildly offended and can sulk for weeks or more afterwards. So Louis has calendar reminders far in advance so he can arrange an appropriately decadent outing/event/gift of some kind.
  • What do you get the man who has everything and can do anything? Experiences. Everyone in Lestat’s inner circle try to set aside the norm in order to try to give him a unique thrill for his birthday. More often than not they just decide to give him what he wants in the bedroom 😉
  • Lestat knows the date that he was turned and does not celebrate it, but spends it in service to others somehow; being kept busy for that entire night is especially important. He does not like to be in France on that night.
  • Lestat will lapse into paralysis when overcome with emotion, and Louis is the best at drawing him back out of it, with gentle touches and soothing words, or a little blood-dipped kiss, but even he usually just has to wait until Lestat resurfaces on his own. Sometimes Lestat is not himself if he’s “woken up” from it and it’s jarring to watch.
  • Lestat is a believer in Retail Therapy and has bought things immediately after or during an argument (even something as simple as a pair of shades at a gas station) in order to regain control of his emotions. It’s partly because he enjoys the whole exchange he has with the retail person.
  • Lestat had time to know his little sister, and mourned her loss, but didn’t write about it, ever, because it was too painful. She died young, she didn’t have enough hand-eye coordination developed yet to learn to hunt with him, but he wanted that for her so badly, and Gabrielle would have allowed it.
  • Lestat has a recent foot fetish. About his own feet. He can spend hours in a CVS picking out nail colors and he paints his toenails himself. He has 3 shoeboxes full of colors and glitters. Louis dislikes the smell, so Lestat will do it in the courtyard and wait until dry before showing off his artwork.
  • Lestat used to paint Claudia’s little fingernails. He did all sorts of girly activities with her, since it was difficult to find any children her age to befriend her.

Lestat RPers I’ve seen and enjoy watching (in no special order): askthebratprinceeternallyfabulousbratlestatmonsieur-le-rockstarmaestrolestatgorgeous-fiendprincelestatprimusduxasavagegardenindeedlestattheonetruepope, mortcharmant

I’m also tagging viaticumforthemarquise, who, as his mother, has her own headcanons about her son.

And merciful-death, who, as his #1 bitch, has his own headcanons about his maker.

Show Armand some love. Write him a note expressing it, please? I’m begging ya! This whole Fuck/Marry/Kill game is upsetting him bc people keep choosing to kill him! Is Armand really so expendable? To everyone? *cries*

gorgeous-fiend-blog:

Of the thousands of immortals immolated in the rise of Akasha, Armand was one of the precious few who remained. And why is that do you wonder? There is nothing mysterious to it, in fact it is made quite plain.

As much as we grind on each other, at the very bottom of the bitterness, resentment, and jealousy Armand is a beloved of mine. He is my dark brother whom I have known almost the entirety of my immortality. Life with out him would seem…incomplete.

To answer your question is Armand expendable? Absolutely not.

If you have read all the books, do you think Louis is the person Lestat loved the most? I’d like to think it is but I’ve heard things against it? Like Anne Rice herself stated David was her favorite of Lestats intimate relationships.

Hmmm… I have read all 10 books. This question made me pause, bc I’d never considered the question of the “Person Lestat Has Loved the Most.” So of course I had to write a thesis on it, you better be grateful, Anon ;]

It’s interesting that AR thinks of David as her favorite of Lestat’s intimate relationships. I think that may be due in part to the fact that in canon she sort of forgot about Louis post-QotD. From there until Merrick, Louis’s role was fairly small. Maybe it’s because AR had made Louis in her own image, Lestat was made in her husband’s image, and felt that the Louis part of her was done and over with. She sort of morphed into Lestat’s role when her husband passed away. Maybe AR saw something in the father-figure that David presented to Lestat, that patient and kind teacher, that she would have wanted for herself… David has also had a great strength, from the first scene we meet him, he doesn’t take Lestat’s shit, doesn’t frighten easily.

But since we’re asking MY opinion here, I don’t think you can choose the ”Person Lestat Has Loved the Most.”

There are different kinds of love, different types of loving relationships; Lestat would probably agree on this concept. I don’t believe in 1 person getting 1 soulmate and that’s THAT. Think of the pressure on that person to provide ALL the love you need. Think of the pressure on YOU to give ALL the love that person needs. It would be enough to crush anyone.

I think Lestat needs to give/receive different kinds of love from different people, that’s why he’s not a shining example of monogamy (at least not for too long!). These 4 people stand out, to me (and other ppl who have read ALL 10 books), as being his main Loved the Most People (in no particular order):

  • Louis: I think we can agree that Louis is the one Lestat has loved the longest. It’s the most lasting relationship for both, and they undeniably have the strongest chemistry, and the strongest desire for each other in a much deeper way than just, “oh you are so hot let’s fuck.” They love each other for their inner beings, flaws and all. Which I think is one of the highest levels of love you can have ♥u♥ (But they do exhaust each other with their intensity from time to time and need space.)
  • David: was there when Lestat needed him in a way that Louis couldn’t (and wasn’t willing to) be. There’s an intensity added to the love for someone who essentially saves your freakin’ life! David saved Lestat’s life. I don’t want to spoil it for you if you haven’t read #4 so I’ll leave it there ;] …However, David has always been more independent, he’s never come across as yearning for Lestat the way Louis has. He was able to refuse Lestat’s very enticing advances when they were both mortal, and I wonder whether that was actually a fear that he might disappoint Lestat w/ his rickety old man body and lose him forever as a friend. David really did (and continues to!) try to keep Lestat in the Friendzone. Maybe David is afraid of becoming too attached to Lestat and yearning for him the way Louis does.
  • Gabrielle: let’s not leave out Lestat’s first love, Mommie Dearest! Oedipus Complex aside, she was the first person to really go to bat for him when he needed it, and even if they were not related, they still understand and care for each other in a way no one else can come close to.
  • Nicolas: First real relationship, in which Lestat learned about mutual support and caring, and adventure time, and all that other stuff. Some say Louis was Nicki 2.0. If Nicolas had survived, well… he would probably still be in Lestat’s Little Black Book at the very least.

I’m sure I’m missing someone and there’ll be backlash, but ^those 4 stand out to me as fandom’s agreed-upon OTP’s for Lestat.

~♥~ Honorable mentions would be:

  • Armand (definitely a BroTP at least),
  • Claudia (who took his heart and stabbed it, too),
  • Marius (♪”I will be your father figure/Put your tiny hand in mine”♪),
  • Daniel (just to spite Armand),
  • Jesse (no, not from that trainwreck QotD movie, just from the books, she was a pretty aggressive wanna-be groupie),
  • Tarquin Blackwood (a pretty big Lestat fanboy who Lestat allowed to blather on for about 95% of a novel ugh),
  • Mona Mayfair (Unfortunately he did fall for her for about 20 seconds),
  • Rowan Mayfair (Unfortunately he did fall for her for about 30 seconds).

I hope that answers your question! I can’t seem to answer anything simply. *siiiigh*

genius-of-221b:

I feel like Louis would be the most pretentious hipster in modern times though. Like, he would sit at home with candles burning, wearing oversized sweaters and skinny jeans that are falling apart. He has read literally everything, so he would name drop a whole bunch of obscure French poets and act surprised when nobody else knows them. He would sit at cafes and judge everyone by what they are reading/talking about. He would also totally bring his leather journal to said cafe to write his own obscure French poetry and annotate literature with color coded fountain pens. Lestat would join him on occasion.

☼ —— A headcanon about my character’s smile.

viaticumforthemarquise:

ooc; I’m answering this in third person b/c it’s easier on my psyche. =)

Gabrielle’s smile is a rare thing. Unlike many people, it cannot be brought on by children or baby animals. She isn’t known for smiling, as has been well-documented, and often leads to many in the coven seeing her as a cold, inhuman creature who (as Armand has put it) cannot even remember what it was to be human.

But, as Lestat can tell you, she does smile. And while it is rare, when one can make her smile, or even laugh, it’s as dazzling as her son’s. One might even note (and even fewer are aware of this, though I’d guess that Louis knows it, and possibly David) that Lestat inherited his smile from her.

What makes her smile?

Wit—the more dry or acerbic, the better.

Irony.

Exceptionally well-timed cruelty towards someone she despises.

Lestat.

Drunk!Louis! Tell us about your kitty!

Harriet is the most understanding being I have ever had the pleasure to know.  She’s perfectly understanding of my requirement for distance at times, followed by her presence upon my lap when it is wanted.  She also “gets” my humor.
