THE UNHOLY MASQUERADE – GREY MARL FITTED T-SHIRT
INSPIRED BY WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (2014)

I like Lestat so much purely because of how much he reminds me of myself. I fancied myself as looking somewhat like him before even getting into IWTV, and I just keep finding more reflections of myself in his personality. We have incredibly similar philosophies about life, existence, morality and tradition, and even a lot of the same flaws and difficulties relating to others. The main difference is I’m not brave enough to handle being famous.

♫WE WILL WE WILL ROCK U♫

Yeah, same here! (except that I don’t look like him at all *cries*) We can go along with him on his journey and gather the reasons for our own philosophical choices and see the mistakes and why he made them, and ask ourselves what we would have done differently, or the same, in his position.

He does have flaws, for sure. Flaws that could spiral anyone into depression. But his lust for life overrides everything ❤

And I think part of why we all love him against our own better judgment is that even when he royally fracks up, he gets back up, dusts himself off, and careens into the next car.

After seeing your lovely drawing of lestat and louis I just had to watch the film and well it was amazing and I’m reading the books now, so thank you for helping me discover something awesome!

flurgburgler:

This is best!!! I’m so glad you liked it! The whole book series is straight up fabulous, and Anne Rice who writes them is such a sassy lady! Yikes I’m just so excited because I literally haven’t fan-girled over the Vampire Chronicles for YEARS.

As an Anglo-Indian myself I was SO excited that there was an Anglo-Indian character in my favourite books! We’re such as small culture on to our own, almost a sub-culture, not many people know about us. It felt SO good to be acknowledged. (I know this isn’t so relevant, but I needed to express haha)

That’s great to hear! It’s absolutely and totally relevant!

In truth, we know very little about the upbringing and life of this Anglo-Indian fictional character. I would hope that the way he is portrayed will be something Anglo-Indian ppl can embrace, but you may take it as a form of cultural appropriation, the way that David essentially becomes Anglo-Indian.

do you know of anyone giffing interview other than you? i can never find the fandom

novellaqueen:

damn bro am i not cool enough?? lmao just kidding!

here are some blogs that reblog a bunch of iwtv stuff. i’m not sure about the others, but the first two make gifsets, sometimes photosets, text posts etc 🙂

if anyone has anymore to add, just reblog this with their url!

I might even take requests for giffed out things, too…

So I’ve seen IWTV and QOTD and I liked both the movies, so my partner let me borrow his copy of Interview with a Vampire and I’m getting through it. Glad to see a fanblog out there. o/

Thanks! Yep, the VC fandom is out here on tumblr, and we’re growing in number. Especially as the next book(s) and new adaptation(s) approaches down the pipeline. More VC blogs are in my #VC Fandom Hunters tag.

Keep in mind book!QOTD is very different from the movie. Be sure to come back and share your perspective on that. Most ppl who read the book first are not too thrilled with the movie, except for nostalgic reasons, I’m not sure about ppl who read the book after.

Re: book!IWTV, Lestat doesn’t really approve of THAT version of the story, lol. So try to stick with the series at least through TVL.
