I actually don’t watch it enough to say I’m a real Fannibal but I’ve seen some. I loved the Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Rising, and Red Dragon. Lestat and Hannibal could make a great Murder Brothers team.

Lestat would take the blood and Hannibal could take the bodies. Nothing wasted!

First of all, you have to consider when are they listening to music? It can be solitary or social…

Armand ~

Enjoys gathering a small audience and hiring live musicians to play complicated classical pieces. Or asking that vampires who can play things come and entertain them. He still loves Sybelle at the piano, even better that her repertoire has expanded beyond the Appassionata. Antoine has played lively duets with her.

Otherwise, Armand throws on huge wireless headsets while perusing art galleries. He’ll listen to anything others recommend to him, he shares a Spotify account so that anyone can try out his playlist, which has a broad spectrum of musical styles.

Armand is drawn to works that are used in ice skating competitions, oddly. It is a recent obsession.

David ~

Musicals, anything upbeat. Has a love for Spanish culture, Flamenco, like the Gypsy Kings. Without much urging, Lestat will put on makeup and dress up in a Flamenco gown and dance with David in public!

David’s rainy-day guilty pleasure are artists like Michael Bolton, for when he’s home alone, feeling left out of the coven activities.

He also loves Sting; the song that hooked him was Desert Rose, which Marius sent him on a mix-CD because of the Arabic singer, Cheb Mami.

Louis ~

It takes a long time for Louis to warm up to new bands, and he likes a few pieces by Hozier which Lestat added to Louis’ outdated iPod. It’s an older gen model but it still works fine, so Louis doesn’t see a need to replace it.

He prefers pieces without lyrics, ambient works that he can melt into while reading.

The Blade Runner movie that Armand got him to watch the first time made Louis a Vangelis fan and a fan of film soundtracks. He often plays the Gone Girl soundtrack.

Marius ~

Daniel and Lestat have introduced him to alot of modern music. Marius will listen while he paints. Marius is the biggest Hozier fan of the four discussed.

He really loves music from other cultures, tho, like the African Children’s Choir – Nangirira, Astor Piazzolla, and Yasmine Hamdan – Hal.

Whatever will inspire during painting, but he will also go to live performances of just about anything to be sociable ❤

Honestly, the song Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks to me as a song represents the fabulousness of Lestat. I don’t know, whenever I hear that song I just feel like all of his antics go with that song’s level of energy. Lestat is fierce and even though he’s a Brat Prince he’s still fabulous. I also think that song has a bit of sass in it which I always thought Lestat had in spades.

I have to agree with you on that. It’s a very ballsy anthem, a very, “I may not know everything about this world, but when I get knocked down, hell if I’m gonna let it keep me down!”

There’s a mention of a guy in it, and it’s easy to see this as a young and fragile Lestat:

He’s only ever wanted to be loved, if you look at all the instances of him Doing the Thing, it was in pursuit of that goal. Religion taught him that to be loved, you must be Good. The idea is that Goodness makes one worthy of love, even when his religious beliefs have waned. The trouble is that his formative years were a confusing series of neglect and abuse (with little love from Gabrielle), the first real love he ever really shared was probably with Nicolas. And that ended pretty badly ;A;

So he still struggles with how to love (and not merely possess), and be loved (allow people to love him).

Hey, I asked two questions a couple weeks ago and it still hasn’t been answered. One was about what kind of music the VC vampires listened too and the other was about what Louis would do if he were human for one day. Just wondering what’s taking so long because usually my questions are answered within a few days.

I’m sorry, normally I CAN and do reply within a few days, as part of my Being the Active and Responsive VC Blogger I Want to See in the World. I actually have a backlog of a number of asks… It’s very unusual that I don’t reply within a few days. I’ll try to get my inbox cleared this week, promis juré! (”pinky swear!” learned this from takemetocoffin-or-losemeforever <3)

I could say the reason I didn’t reply is that “I’m busy,” but that’s also often used as a blanket excuse answer, so I’ll prove it:

I’ve had a flurry of fanwork inspiration in the past 2 weeks; some recent RPing, I was working on a ficlet for a fandom friend’s birthday that I posted recently, and another 2 ficlets that I haven’t posted yet (1 is ready and the other is not), and before that I made two VC parody videos [1, my first original post to break 10K notes!! zomg!] and [2 which features a snippet of Britney Spears music aww yisss]…

ALSO I have a personal rule that I try not to post more than 10x a day, I don’t want to spam y’all ~~and I think I’m over my limit today~~. Even though fanworks are happy spam (ノ°∀°)ノ’.:*・°☆

SPECIFICALLY THOSE ASKS THOUGH:

I guess it’s hard because in terms of music, that’s a big answer, and I’m trying to think of ways to answer it without it being a Wall of Text™ because noone wants to read that much…

Aaaand the Louis question is also hard because that’s another potential Wall of Text™ because there are so many things I think he’d love! And there’s the question of does he get to decide where he is when it happens? Maybe he’d want to go somewhere outside NOLA for a daylight experience.

So I’m still percolating on those and all my asks, please be patient, it’s always worth the wait from Mater Fabuloso, oui?
