The fact that it came in a keg like that, and that alcohol is flammable, one could easily mistake it in the movie for wine. So many victims bled to death on that stage, and then considering that Lestat had told Louis to pretend blood was wine, I think it makes sense that this kerosene is amber/red in the movie, figuratively, it seems to be blood or wine, even if that color might be wrong historically.

There is some similarity here… these two fashionable idiots who seem to succeed at everything despite breaking the rules to do it! I think Lestat would dig the aesthetics of the movie, the fashion, the music… I think he’d jab Louis in the elbow whenever Salieri gets pissy about pretty much everything Mozart does ;D
Louis might not admit it but he’d enjoy it for some of the same reasons.
I’m re-watching Interview With The Vampire and as much as I love Lestat, I feel so bad for Louis. Like, I really can’t blame him. I really can’t. He’s stuck with this loud, blonde, glittery murder machine and all he wants to do is crawl into a pillow fort and cry for 700 years. Can you blame him? Can you?
I can ^o^ Lestat is the right punishment for someone with a deathwish who chooses immortality. Louis really didn’t think this through, imho.
First of all, RIP Bill Paxton ;A; I loved him in Twister, and other movies.
I haven’t actually watched James Paxton in anything, I don’t watch him on Eyewitness, but I have seen some borderline NSFW gifs of it on tumblr, and…
I see potential… Can’t quite articulate why, not even being sarcastic. He seems to have the right blend of cockiness and tenderness, and he’s already experienced with making out with another guy on screen, and it would be gr9 to have that in the new VC adaptation.
^I mean, again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I think this lighting is working for him, softening his features somewhat. He seems pretty w/o being like, a model. He has a boy-next-door quality. I imagine that some of what drew ppl to Lestat as a mortal was his blend of confidence, shyness, and caring, those are the things that make what would have been a slightly-above-average-looking guy into someone really gorgeous <3. Then vampiring enhanced what he already had going for him.
Hmmm, I don’t know! We only see them in the coffin (for sleeping, as you said, not like in the scene Louis gets locked into a coffin by the TdV) a few times in the film. That could be a sample size problem, maybe other nights they did change into pajamas!
1) There’s the night Louis gets turned, maybe there wasn’t enough time that night to change his clothes but he really ought to have, since his clothes would’ve gotten messy from the procedure (the whole “your body is dying” thing) maybe the filmmakers didn’t want to give him the chance to change clothes bc that would be too caring of Lestat, gotta keep the focus on Lestat being an antagonist.
2) Maybe in these shots w/ Claudia, she is dressed for “bed,” but Louis didn’t have time to change, or maybe he likes dressing in what he’s going to wear the next night… but I think it’s mostly to try to reduce the pedo taboo. He’s a faher figure, even though he’s technically her brother. If he was wearing something more comfortable or showing anymore than face & hand skin, it could be construed as … not fatherly.
IIRC, changing clothes for bed isn’t mentioned in the book!IWTV. I’ll reblog a few posts of vampires in bedclothes for ya ;D
Lestat talks about putting on a special outfit when he stays over at Marius’ house in TVL. He finds a gold mask w/ a hood, leather gloves covered with gold scales, and a blanket with gold plates on one side.

Anyway. Keep in mind beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so I saw quite a wide variety on the OVCFB page due to that. My own opinions reflect my own idea of beauty so yours may vary.

^Ezra Miller: Looks great in period costume, has perfect hair, has so much sass. I saw him in We Need to Talk About Kevin, I just think he is captivating, and cruel, and humorous, all the ingredients for a Nicolas de Lenfent ❤
^Ben Barnes is not currently my FAVE appearance-wise, I feel like he’s too… soft?…. but his acting boosts him up. He seems to be the front running POTP fave so I am betting AR will follow up with him.
^Benedict Samuel: I’ve only seen him recently in The Walking Dead, and you have to see him in that, bc he’s as sweet and tender and intense and depressive as Nicolas needs to be. Physically, these full lips and dark brooding eyes, the wide smile that’s almost manic and the frown that speaks to a deeper well of misery that no one can hope to touch. Am I praising him too much? PROBABLY BUT I DO WHAT I WANT. [I wax on poetic about him a little more here]
^Reeve Carney seems to be a HUGE POTP favorite. I hate his hair. HATE. THE MIDDLE. PART. AND. SO. FLAT. If they can give him a wig, then we might be in business.
^Alexander Vlahos well bc Versailles. He was mentioned a few times on the OVCFB so we may see some followup with him.
^Louis Garrel has been a Louis RPer’s face claim and he’s a Nicolas face claim currently for @bloodstrung. I see Garrel as more of a Louis, but I’d screentest him as Nicolas.

^I used to really love Gaspard Ulliel as Lestat but not so much anymore… also, the POTP have made me consider him for Nicolas and I think it could work! I like that he has the scar, too, and that could be explained in the show in some fun way like it was in Hannibal Rising.
^David Garrett, I feel like he’s too masculine, too mature of feature, but he is amazing on the violin so that could outweigh his physical appearance for me. @darknessmolten used him as a face claim.
^Landon Liboiron was a POTP suggestion, I am kinda digging him for reasons I can’t explain.
^Nicolas RPer @a-misunderstanding-my-love used model Michael Gandolfi, and idk if he still looks like this or if he can act, but I think he has some of the cruelty that you need for a good Nicolas.
Dude, since I don’t count movie!QOTD (yes I was excited about it when it was announced, and when it was filming, but then… not so into it when I saw it), I’ve been waiting since ‘94 for another adaptation, so I’m just sitting here like:
But every time AR posts about it, yeah, I still get at least a little excited bc I am easy to please and it’s difficult to disappoint me. CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC ALWAYS.
As far as I know, yes, the movie was cancelled. But AR has the rights to VC now and is developing just the TV series for now. She and Chris had written the script for a movie, so they still have that if they want to do a TV series leading into a movie. The X-Files was a TV series that had two movies and then went back to being a TV series much later.
If everyone who sees this could reach out to someone(s) they care about, call/text/message/chat/etc., and just remind them how much they mean to you… do the thing. Life can be short *hugs*
I’m sorry, I meant to get to the asks and then I just… ran out of steam on it, and needed some offline time.
It helped that the funeral was on a perfect day (global warming :- ), the sun was out, there was a soft breeze, and the deceased’s little sister, she’s 14 and taller than her mom, was so supportive to both her parents. I was one of the last to leave their home and the mom of the deceased was surrounded by a few very close friends she’d had since middle school, and I felt like I was leaving her in very capable hands.
But yeah, it hit me again today, the gravity of the situation, and I keep going between sadness and denial, but it’s better now. Sometimes terrible things happen to innocent people.

The night she’s turned, Louis tries to get Madeleine to share a coffin with him (not out of love it seems, but just that the sun is rising and he doesn’t want her to wreck herself), but we don’t know if he’s successful with that, the scene ends without it being confirmed.
After that, I don’t think Louis mentions the sleeping arrangements, but doubt Madeleine would sleep alone at that point. So either with Claudia or Louis, but I headcanon that the night of Madeleine’s turning was the end of Louis sharing his coffin with Claudia ;A;
