I found this on ellisisland.org – Passenger Louis de Lioncourt boarding the ship La Bretagne in the port of Havre on March 5, 1907. His place of origin shows as Bordeaux. Top photo shows a page of La Bretagne’s manifest – next is a photo of the La Bretagne, then a closer shot of the manifest, line 22. The last picture gives the information shown on the manifest.
Looks like Louis sailed to New York (perhaps with Armand ?) in 1907 and used Lestat’s name as a pseudonym.
When his fangs rend tender flesh and the blood flows over his tongue in a shockingly heated red wave, everything fades back to insignificance. His thoughts become disjointed and hazy, secondary to the tide of bliss that he can feel in every vein and artery, tingling right through to the minute, threaded capillaries pulsing beneath the shell of his white skin.
He feels the feeble struggling of his chosen ones, those mortals both innocent and not, and that too seems distant, fielded cleanly with a tightening of his arm or the inevitable weakness of oncoming death. He loves them for their gift.
Some people have a problem with sexuality in the VC. As in, that the vampires can’t have sex. I think that’s totally wrong. It all depends on your definition of sex.
Actually, there seems to be a few steps missing from this ‘guide’. I don’t want to mislead my fans into thinking they can achieve proper Lestatism in less than ten steps.

Fall in love with (almost) anyone who seems even remotely interesting…. except for Armand.
Remember to visit Louis at least once or twice every few years or so, less he start whining loud enough for you to hear it.

4. How much time they spend getting ready every morning: twenty minutes to two hours if he’s being picky about what he wants to wear and tries on five different outfits.
5. Their favorite thing to collect: instruments, mainly strings and pianos. Or he collects sheet music. He also enjoys small rocks found on the beach filling up clear vases with them and setting them around his home. //exes// How dare you mun I do no such thing

9. Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling: sightseeing under the stars.
10. Favorite kind of weather: Prefers when the air just begins to have a slight chill to it. Rain makes him reflect, and he hates being cold, though will still venture outside to watch the snow fall and then complain about how cold it is.
