sometimes Pangur gets bored of her toys & starts screaming, so I open a door to Forbidden Territory. it makes her feel sneaky and glad
is there a human trapped inside this weasel
she never ate nobody, not once. humans, in this cat?
I feel as she should open her mouth an speak prophecy. She is such a striking kitty. Like she is the type of cat I would expect to see at the side of elves.
Oh wow, no, I had not been on tumblr all day today, I didn’t see it until now… thanks for sharing it, yes! Very Lestatuesque! Lestat would probably be wild about YOI.
Can we get an ice skating AU plz? Writers? Artists? #FANART REQUEST #FANFIC REQUEST.
//ooc; Mun is answering this for Lestat, bc he would just tell you to go after whatever you find beautiful! Nothing is off-limits. But he doesn’t comprehend time, effort, and financial limitation for mortals *pouts*
[^the movie the Craft has some gr9
achievable
witchy/vampiry style.]
I don’t know what your budget is but you don’t need to spend a ton of money to achieve some great vampiry fashion looks. @transylvaniateaparty shops at H&M (very affordable stuff, I get nice tops there for like $12 sometimes!) and thrift stores.
Based on what you’re saying, this youtuber kittenmoustache might be a good inspiration for you.
kittenmoustache is pale, has dark hair, and a gothy aesthetic, and all their makeup tutes would probably work for your eye color!
Fashion-wise, you could look at what she’s wearing, too, for inspiration.
Thanks for the blog luerve! <333 I really appreciate it.
Yep, Ricean vampires can only drink blood 😛 In some fanfic, they can take little sips of other liquid, but IIRC, they can only consume blood in canon.
^This is from What We Do in the Shadows. I don’t think it would be exactly like this for Ricean vampires, but it’s hilarious (but GROSS) so WATCH IT (if you can handle the gross). For these and the Ricean vampires, eating people food is bad, but not lethal.
Ricean vampires lose a lot of digestive anatomy when they’re turned. So their bodies just can’t metabolize it. So, cooking smells become repulsive to them, as Louis describes it in IWTV:
“The slightly nauseating smell of cooking meat… I caught the sweet smell of the spices and the fresh green of marjoram and bay; and then in a wavecame the horrid smell of the cooking meat, the blood and flesh decaying in the boiling fluids.“
If they were to try a bite of a plate of food, it might be like trying to force yourself to eat something inedible, like an old soapy sponge, maybe? Our body’s way of defending itself from inedible things is to make them taste bad (but then there are people with Pica, who eat inedible things and then there’s the fact that some edible things that are good for you might not be very tasty unless prepared somehow so… idk).
I would guess that eating a whole plateful of food would just make Ricean vampires throw it back up, no enjoyment in or out 😛
@roselioncourt RPs as Rose de Lioncourt, and that muse has experimented with food made from blood. You could ask her about that.
BONUS: Louis Xavier Lewis-Smith, who played Denis in movie!IWTV, teaches us how to make a British Mojito:
Oh this is that guy from the Don’t Stay in School vid, I remember him! What a powerful vid this is. Still gives me chills.
I do really like his look, but idk about him as Louis. I’d still screentest him for another role, a different vampire maybe. One of the Fang Gang maybe, or a theatre vampire.
There is a lot of debate about Louis’s hair, and I’ve done it publicly and privately (recently w/ my fanfic co-writer/collaborator @wicked-felina!) this dude’s hair… it’s more of a fanon thing for him to have long silky straight hair, canonically, Louis has “wavy, curly” and “black” or “raven” hair “curling just under his ear.”
^X by @i-see-light, probably more canonically accurate for Louis.
We all picture him differently, I think that’s part of what will make it so hard to cast an actor for this role. Some ppl headcanon his hair as long and more of a chestnut-color (like in movie!IWTV), or shorter and curlier (like in Lestat the Musical), or dark, longish and silky (which I think is influenced by
movie!IWTV but trying to pay some homage to canon), or something else entirely!
We all apply our own ideals of beauty (which are influenced by our own cultures, art, families, romantic partners, and/or friends, etc.) onto these fictional characters.
I enjoy the different interpretations in
VC cosplay and fanart, for the adaptation(s), it’s more important to me if he can act like Louis, so I’ll accept hairstylings I wouldn’t normally like for the sake of good script writing from the writers, and strong ic acting from the actors ^_____^
It’s so fun to see at least this shot from the other side of the door, lol…
I’ll transcribe it somewhat for y’all:
The narrator is all about the *~secrecy~* like of course Tom Cruise wanted to keep the secrecy of his costumes and makeup and whatever, so as not to spoil the surprise! We have closed sets all the time these days and back then. I don’t think that was just Tom, I think everyone involved in making the movie wanted that secrecy.
The narrator pronounces his name the way AR prefers, not the way it’s pronounced in the movie
AR wasn’t pleased about the casting at the time of this video, but when she saw the movie, she was thrilled with Tom’s performance.
Tom said: “The negative criticism? When it starts out, it kind of hurts your feelings and then I just go, well, I can’t help myself, y’know? I wanna play this character.”
Other actors AR had preferred to see in the role: Daniel Day-Lewis (he turned it down), Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich. She named River Phoenix, but I don’t think she meant as Lestat. But he had died by the time this video was made, and Christian Slater had taken his role as Daniel.
In the video John Preston (Anne’s friend, and therefore an authority?) said, “Tom Cruise will not allow himself to be photographed kissing a man,… he’s evidently very upset that Brad Pitt of all people looks taller than he does and we’re told that he’s wearing risers.” Yeah well Lestat is supposed to be a little taller than Louis. Heels were in fashion for men then, anyway.
Narrator: “There is word that Tom has insisted that a makeup person be on the set at all times” Well yeah, those contacts are uncomfortable, apparently, and with all that action the fragile prosthetics and fangs probably needed to be put back in place every few minutes, “to make sure his eyebrows look right.” Well that’s a valid concern! They actually weren’t all that happy with his makeup at first, as far as I know, some scenes were cut bc they changed his makeup, made the hair darker.
Narrator:
“But some insiders say this behavior is just another example of Tom Cruise’s well-known perfectionism, a perfectionism that proved wrong those critics who thought he was too light-weight to star in Born on the Fourth of July. He ended up getting an Oscar nomination for it.”
Tom Cruise: “I’ve gotta wake up every day and play this role. Is it going to be exciting? And I want to commit six months of my life playing the character.”
Narrator: “In the end it all comes down to this: with a [the audio sorta hiccups but I think it was a $40 million dollar] budget at stake, the fate of Interview with the Vampire is going to depend on Tom Cruise, his looks, his acting ability, and his demands.” Like they’re such unreasonable demands and he’s carrying the whole movie himself? He’s not even the vampire that gets interviewed!
