I feel ya! We need more Lestat/Armand fanfic and fanart! #FANFIC REQUEST #FANART REQUEST. With and without lots of sex(ual tension) and all amounts of angst and fluff <333 and yes, @monstersinthecosmos is one of my fave fanfic writers, too.
BTW, I have one short Lestat/Armand fic on AO3… *scoots this link in…* since you’re thirsty for A/L…
A Brief Reprieve–After the events of Prince Lestat, Lestat reflects on certain aspects of his new spirit animal, snuggled up lovingly with Armand by a fire in winter. Slightly AU in that they are snuggled up together lovingly by a fire in winter!
[^Here’s a fanart of A/L for you, source unknown, even reverse-image searched. Tell me the source if you know it!]
Anon, hey, if you’re in creative writing class, then you’re learning, you’re starting out *u* You could be a writer of 10/10 A/L ff yourself someday. The laziness you feel might be more of a fear of failure; I recognize that’s what laziness is for me when I have a mountain of fanworks I intend to do and I’d just rather… y’know… rewatch an episode of the Walking Dead.
ANYWAY Lestat and Armand have referred to eachother in canon as being brothers of a sort, so I tag them #murder brothers, if you want more Lestat/Armand action in my blargh.
Writing can suck at any time: whether you’re just starting out or even when you’re a published author, but there can also be good stuff nestled in among the suck, and like I was often told about drawing, you have to get a ton of bad drawings out before you can get to the good ones. With writing, it’s plot bunnies you want, and good turns of phrase, good dialogue… Then you have to nurture your plot bunnies, and encourage them to multiply by spending time and effort feeding them or talking about them with others. It’s also like exercise, at least for me. It’s a habit/muscle that needs training and attention. It’s been enormously helpful for me to have @wicked-felina as a collaborator, bc we do push eachother to be productive ❤ Your class is probably doing that!
I personally feel like everyone can write, whether you write superficial or deep topics or anything in between, it’s all wanted in fandom. We just had a post going around about VC characters playing Dungeons & Dragons(an anon asked @monstersinthecosmos about that and others jumped in, so yes, that’s pretty superficial, but it’s still something the fandom wants to speculate about! Who knows, a fanfic about that could lead to the exploration of deeper issues.
Second, JUST WANNA PARROT THE ORIGINAL POST A LITTLE but I also want to say like. Dude! Just write some stuff. 😀 😀 This is a teeny little sleepy fandom and it is so thirsty for more content, just do it! You can do it! We all want you to write fic!!!!!!
I hadn’t written fanfiction in like, 10-11 years until just recently when I started exploring VC fandom cause I was like LOL WHERE! IS! ALL! THE! AR! MAND! SMUT!!!! and like, for me when it comes to writing (and this goes for my original writing, too) I think it’s really helpful to think of it in terms of writing what you want to read.
Fanfiction is awesome to flex your writing muscles a bit and get some practice in, and it’s helpful because it invites attention and feedback. It’s also easy to apply flash fiction or drabbles to fanfic because we don’t need exposition and backstory. Like, yeah! WE GET IT, WE KNOW! Quit dicking around and just jump into the story, we already want it! This is so valuable when it comes to just getting WRITING done and you really don’t even need a plot. You can elaborate on the teeniest mental images, headcanons, goofy or angsty situations, and that’s all it has to be! No one expects it to win a Pulitzer, it’s okay if it isn’t perfect!
In fact!!!!!!!!!! It shouldn’t be perfect! And you are not going to get better if you do not start somewhere!
I still get really nervous when I post fics and I doubt my abilities BASICALLY CONSTANTLY ALL THE TIME LOL but good and bad feedback are imperative to honing your craft and learning your strengths and finding things to fix. PLUS LIKE, it can really help to motivate you if you get some people on your side who like what you’re doing! Like I am consistently sappy and overwhelmed by the response to my fics and it’s what keeps me writing. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Anyway idk man, here’s an ungraceful dismount to my post lmfao but, listen!
Write! Do it! Share it with us we are thirsty.
AND OH, P.S. RE: SMUT. Just uh. You know. Don’t make it smutty until you’re ready LOL! Lots of incredible stories aren’t smutty, and there are lots of people out there who don’t want to read smut anyway! It took me forever to get comfortable writing smut and I still don’t even know if I’m doing it right LMAO. So take your time and don’t feel like your story needs smut, because it probably doesn’t!
Anon, your message sat in my inbox for over a week because I don’t remember enough about their relationship to answer this question.
I’ll open it up to anyone to answer!
I love Marius & Pandora together, they give me life and when they’re getting along it’s like the closest thing to a healthy relationship Marius has ever had in this series. Anne said she based their penchant for bickering with each other on how she and her husband Stan used to be, so I think it’s really easy to read Pandora as Marius being a Complete Dick as usual but it’s another situation where you have to take AR context into it a little bit and I think in a lot of ways she was making the point about how sometimes people can genuinely love each other while clashing during everyday domestic life.
For me personally there’s an IDEA of Marius/Pandora that has never really had a chance to happen, because they were still relatively young (in comparison to how old they are now) when they were together, and I think they were still very volatile and emotional as baby vampires at the time, and I think there’s a lot of potential for them to have a really fulfilling relationship now if they decide to. But Pandora has a really important role in Marius’s life because he’s a person who like HATES BEING DISOBEYED and one of the reasons they clash so much is that she AINT ABOUT MARIUS’S BULLSHIT and she’s always been able to call him on his garbage and refuse him and argue with him and challenge him.
And like, despite the mountain of evidence that points to Marius being a Complete Dick, I do think that within the Riceverse he truly loves the people he involves himself with, even though his version of love is often unhealthy and dangerous. And I think it’s important that even though they got on each other’s nerves and she was a pain in his ass, he loved her so desperately and pined after her for centuries.
I think in the scope of VC (and this is speaking towards like a hypothetical eternity that none of us will ever see because it would hypothetically stretch past any our lives haha) that if Marius can ever redeem himself as a person, Pandora might be the one to challenge him and drive him to change. She’s sort of a key to Marius’s past that no one else in this world can be and I think that would be invaluable when it comes to knocking him off his pedestal.
I have a lot of headcanon fantasy about how good they could maybe be for each other and it would be really satisfying for me if Marius could like, stop being a douche because I really like so much else about him as a character. And it would also be satisfying for Anne to utilize Pandora as a character because I think she has a lot of potential but she’s turned into like a ~sad vampire lady~ background accessory and I’m not a fan. And knowing AR and how these books go, she’s not gonna take advantage of this because she doesn’t seem to feel the need to challenge Marius anyway.
VC PROTIP: I know a lot of people skip Pandora but HONESTLY LIKE THERE’S SO MUCH DIRT ON MARIUS IN IT LOL like he’s such an asshole in it and I think it’s really good contextual evidence about him that’s worth reading. It’s enjoyable as a Marius fan but I imagine it’s also validating to get more material on hating him, too, if you’re on that side.
Yeah, I would have wanted that, too… ;A; young David Bowie as Lestat, or older David Bowie could have been Lestat’s father, the Marquis!
Physically, even as a younger man, I think Bowie was a little too masculine for my headcanon of Lestat, but I truly believe he could have pulled a Tom Cruise and convinced us all that he was worthy to play Lestat bc of his acting!
This gifset is worth seeing in motion but still, this is SO Lestatuesque:
Fortunately for us all, David Bowie DID play a vampire in The Hunger (which also stars Catherine Deneuve as a vampire, she’s a fandom fave for Gabrielle!), check out @hyperbeeb‘s review of it [X].
This movie is fucking great. It’s got vampires, lesbians and David Bowie. It’s atmospheric and creepy and overall fucking brilliant. The last scene is a bit disappointing because there’s a lame bit of sequel bait but I can live with that because the film overall is so damn quality. Go watch it.
I’ve always wanted to talk a bit lenghtily about my opinions on fic, fic writing and the general writer-fic-reader culture and I just saw an extremely unpleasant “article” on ao3 that righeously attacks a certain genre of fanfic that I personally don’t read, nor like, but the existence of which really doesn’t bother me.
First things first, to me the positives of fanfiction vastly outnumber the negatives. I am used to living in absolute certainty that anytime I want to have fun, escape or get a little hot and bothered, there will always be fic to provide that for me. I will always, always find a fic I love. Notice I am saying fic *I* love, not, “fic that is good”. And having this certainty, I become entirely unbothered by the automatically existing other group, aka fics I don’t love.
Despite commenting on fics as much as I can, and participating in the fandom, there is still something utterly personal about fanfiction to me. It’s reading it on my phone as I’m shaky and queasy on my way to an exam, to a job interview, to an annoying doctor’s appointment. It’s loading up fics to my kindle and reading them at 3am on the plane when it kind of seems like neither time nor space are real anymore. It’s checking my ao3 subscription emails right after my alarm goes off because finding out a fave WIP updated might actually wake my brain up in a pleasant manner. I’m not exaggerating when I say I go through my life non-stop reading fics bit by bit.
What each and every one of the writers responsible for those fics gives me is priceless. And they are not even asking for a price! Just some damn decency.
The phrase “don’t like don’t read” might seem simplistic and in a way, almost illogical – except with the existence of meticulous tagging system, it becomes reality. Tags are there to warn and to entire. Writers, use them. Readers, read them. But it doesn’t stop there. It is, in fact, entirely possible to open a fic and find it wanting and still follow that directive. How? Close the damn tab. If you want to nitpick it, the phrase becomes “i have read, i haven’t liked, i have stopped reading”.
Now, we are people. We get passionate about fandoms, characters, ships, so I get that not everyone – not all the time – is capable of being so chill about being faced with something they seriously didn’t like.
Don’t inflict it on the author. And – and this is a peeve of mine – don’t passively aggresively inflict it on all the authors who might read your vague, public rant and think “is this me?” or who will add it to that ever growing list of mental barriers and doubts that we seem to be soaking up like sponges. Just tell it to a friend. Punch a pillow. Go and find a fic you love.
Remember that even though it seems your taste might be objective, or “common sense” – and this is easy to fall into especially when things like basic grammar are involved – it’s just not. Not in these cases. That description of my daily fic consumption I wrote above? That has been going on for years and years. Somewhat recently I decided to look up fics for an old ship of mine, remembering how deeply I loved them, how I reread them many times, and I was so giddy about getting to enjoy myself like that again. My reaction was a little “oh”. It was not only me whose tastes have changed, but also fandom and fic writing that has evolved, however, that doesn’t at all alter my past enjoyment. And for every fic you scoff at, there might be a reader who is at an entirely different place than you are, and is loving it. Don’t undo their support by your selfish lash out.
Bottom line, just focus on what you do. Focus on finding what you like. Support what you like. It’s not like “bad” and “good” fic are fighting for their place on the interwebs and only one can get the spot. This is not a limited space library.
If you need a more candid conversation about things like ships, characterizations and so on, turn to meta. Meta is there for people to disagree on, because meta should follow rules of logic and analysis. Fanfiction doesn’t have to.
Wise words from a wise lady, couldn’t have said it better.
Fandom isn’t so different from real life. There will always be people who enjoy things I don’t like and vice versa, no two people are the same. I often wonder if these people harass others in real life, too, if they bitch at somebody just because they like cheese. Because that’s what it comes down to, different tastes. So much energy wasted when there’s so much good to be had.
awwww u sweet thing! U made me see bubbly hearts and stars so I danced in them <333
Hi! I love your blog soooo much! Is it bad I check it at LEAST twice a day? Oops.
Awww that’s very sweet! I try to make it the blog I wanted to find when I first got into fandom and yeah, I would be checking such a blog at least twice a day, I’m sure ^______^
I’m posting less often bc I’m even more picky about what I post/reblog than when I started this thing. If I posted every meme I had an idea for, there would be a lot of crappy ones, y’know? I only make the ones that give me a physical reaction in concept.
Same with rebageling. Only the posts that really hit that sweet spot of my particular sense of humor/taste. And if I posted every VC thing (fanart, fanfic, cosplay, article, aesthetic post, meta analysis, etc.) that comes across my dash, I’d be avalanching you guys with VC stuff and that’s not good either. I try to keep to my 10 post/day limit to keep this stuff curated, and keep it manageable for me, too bc there are only so many hours in the day and I can’t watch the dash 24/7. There will always be at least 1 thing posted from my queue tho 😉 If that ever runs out, then you know there’s no one at the wheel here anymore ;A;
Anyway, I feel like I don’t know much about you personally.
There’s a reason for that. I always felt like this blog should only be about, and for, VC! And I, myself, am not a VC thing 😛 Even though I do make fanworks, and encouraging fanworks is another aim of this blog. And it’s for promoting positivity in the VC fandom, bc positivity leads to fresh fanworks leads to fresh positivity… <333
BUT, there’s some stuff about me in my #being social tag, and I have my own selfies mixed into the #selfie tag, too. I keep my fandom life and Real Life as separate as I can. I don’t want to use this blog as a place to vent or brag about myself, not very much, admittedly, I do do that occasionally. OCCASIONALLY. Would you want that? I didn’t think you wanted that! DO YOU?!
^Here’s my faaaaace why does my wrist look huge?, selfie taken in Oct. 2014 for the PL booksigning, I’m kinda camera shy y’know? I look better in motion, not flattened out and frozen in a picture… it makes my fingers itch to photoshop it, but this one has no photoshoppin’, just decent lighting. My hair is actually wavy/curly and much shorter now bc getting it that straight ‘n tamed was always a chore. Even so, I kinda miss the long hair, which I’d kept long for YEARS. It got tangled every day. Every day was a choice between brushing out the tangles painfully or allowing them to get more tangled, putting off a worse brushing later. Maybe I’ll take a few selfies for you, anon.
^normal sized wrists here see? I also kinda want to bleach/dye my hair blonde or silvery white like I had in this wig when I was Andy Warhol for one Halloween, but it wouldn’t be this silky bc MY HAIR IS CURSEDLY WAVY/CURLY.
Hit the jump for moar about ME
What other fandoms are you in?
I’m not really IN the fandoms but I love the Walking Dead and Hannibal… not really in any others, but I like the fanart and discussion on some, like Harry Potter, Marvel (MCU)(I ship Stony bc of @americancaptain, but I’m open to other ships), Yuri on Ice, Attack on Titan, I’m sure there are others that I can’t think of right now. I love watching Hoarders, it helps keep my own magpie tendencies in check!
Do you have any other tumblrs?
None that are active, so I’d rather not share. I’m considering launching a sideblog for all the not-VC stuff I can’t post here. Would you want that? There would be a helluva lot more cat pics like for realz. ALL THE CAT PICS I CANT POST HERE.
And do you/have you ever cosplayed?
Nope! I’d love to cosplay as Lestat but alas I am his opposite in just about every physical characteristic lol. Being half Greek and half Russian, I could probably pull off an Armand.
My past several Halloweens have not been very notable since I refuse to dress sexy. Even so, I gotta try for something special this year. I was a computer virus for one
Halloween (my own sorta wacky idea) and ppl said I looked like a Power Rangers villain, Rita Repulsa. *shrugs*
Lemme just say: your description of Marius was so lovely! Whoever is cast, yeah, we’re going to need magnificent hair and we’re going to need to see him actually painting ;D
@sheepskeleton‘s fanart (which is based on Michael Fassbender) is more Marius than Ralph Fiennes, for me, tho…
[^X@sheepskeleton has a bunch of Marius pieces, this is one of my faves.]
Does Feinnes really paint? That’s pretty cool!
Feinnes is 54 and Marius was turned at 40. Movie/makeup magic could make him look younger, but I think we’d need a Marius who wouldn’t age through the course of a TV series that could last for several years. He’s going to be 60 in 6 years 😛
^Idk when this gif is from but I gotta say, yes, he’s got this great fatherly quality and Roman enough features… but the age thing… *sigh*
Hmmm, I don’t know! We only see them in the coffin (for sleeping, as you said, not like in the scene Louis gets locked into a coffin by the TdV) a few times in the film. That could be a sample size problem, maybe other nights they did change into pajamas!
1) There’s the night Louis gets turned, maybe there wasn’t enough time that night to change his clothes but he really ought to have, since his clothes would’ve gotten messy from the procedure (the whole “your body is dying” thing) maybe the filmmakers didn’t want to give him the chance to change clothes bc that would be too caring of Lestat, gotta keep the focus on Lestat being an antagonist.
2) Maybe in these shots w/ Claudia, she is dressed for “bed,” but Louis didn’t have time to change, or maybe he likes dressing in what he’s going to wear the next night… but I think it’s mostly to try to reduce the pedo taboo. He’s a faher figure, even though he’s technically her brother. If he was wearing something more comfortable or showing anymore than face & hand skin, it could be construed as … not fatherly.
IIRC, changing clothes for bed isn’t mentioned in the book!IWTV. I’ll reblog a few posts of vampires in bedclothes for ya ;D
Lestat talks about putting on a special outfit when he stays over at Marius’ house in TVL. He finds a gold mask w/ a hood, leather gloves covered with gold scales, and a blanket with gold plates on one side.
“I realized that if I put on this mask and these gloves – if I laid
over me the blanket – then I would be protected from the light if anyone
opened the lid of the sarcophagus while I slept.”
Anon’s right, Nicolas casting topic went out yesterday:
I had answered a Nicolas casting question a year ago and now I felt like doing it fresh, see if my answers change… I looked through some of the suggestions on the OVCFB page but I couldn’t make it through ALL of the comments and I really liked this comment, let’s choose an unknown actor!:
Anyway. Keep in mind beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so I saw quite a wide variety on the OVCFB page due to that. My own opinions reflect my own idea of beauty so yours may vary.
BUT FIRST, a brand-new misspelling of his name by a POTP bc reasons:
Nocholos…… Buenos Nocholos….. *eyeroll*
So in no special order (except I think Ezra Miller is my fave rn)
^Ezra Miller: Looks great in period costume, has perfect hair, has so much sass. I saw him in We Need to Talk About Kevin, I just think he is captivating, and cruel, and humorous, all the ingredients for a Nicolas de Lenfent ❤
^Ben Barnes is not currently my FAVE appearance-wise, I feel like he’s too… soft?…. but his acting boosts him up. He seems to be the front running POTP fave so I am betting AR will follow up with him.
^Benedict Samuel: I’ve only seen him recently in The Walking Dead, and you have to see him in that, bc he’s as sweet and tender and intense and depressive as Nicolas needs to be. Physically, these full lips and dark brooding eyes, the wide smile that’s almost manic and the frown that speaks to a deeper well of misery that no one can hope to touch. Am I praising him too much? PROBABLY BUT I DO WHAT I WANT. [I wax on poetic about him a little more here]
^Reeve Carney seems to be a HUGE POTP favorite. I hate his hair. HATE. THE MIDDLE. PART. AND. SO. FLAT. If they can give him a wig, then we might be in business.
^Alexander Vlahos well bc Versailles. He was mentioned a few times on the OVCFB so we may see some followup with him.
^Louis Garrel has been a Louis RPer’s face claim and he’s a Nicolas face claim currently for @bloodstrung. I see Garrel as more of a Louis, but I’d screentest him as Nicolas.
Hit the jump for more, cut for length.
^Jonas Kesseler is a model so idk if he’s too old now or if he can act, but visually, he is pretty close to my headcanon.
^I used to really love Gaspard Ulliel as Lestat but not so much anymore… also, the POTP have made me consider him for Nicolas and I think it could work! I like that he has the scar, too, and that could be explained in the show in some fun way like it was in Hannibal Rising.
^David Garrett, I feel like he’s too masculine, too mature of feature, but he is amazing on the violin so that could outweigh his physical appearance for me. @darknessmolten used him as a face claim.
^Landon Liboiron was a POTP suggestion, I am kinda digging him for reasons I can’t explain.
^Nicolas RPer @a-misunderstanding-my-love used model Michael Gandolfi, and idk if he still looks like this or if he can act, but I think he has some of the cruelty that you need for a good Nicolas.
There is PLENTY wrong with TOBT. Plenty. So much so that there are many fandom ppl who don’t consider it canon.
I’ve seen attitudes about this book change over time. In ‘94, when that book was 2 yrs old, I remember ppl telling me they felt the series had ended with QOTD, bc TOBT was written off as simply being “the body-swap episode” (many films and TV series have tried their hand at that concept, and it’s usually a wacky ride). When Memnoch the Devil came out in ‘95, ppl didn’t like that one either, too offensive for its ideas about religion, and/or too preposterous of a plot; TOBT + MTD seemed to confirm that VC had jumped the shark, and a lot of ppl decided that the series ended at QOTD.
TOBT has wackiness in it, I mean, the difficulty of peeing (with a dick) is described in such vivid detail, there’s just too much comedy in it for me to discard it all outright.
(Oh! And perfect cinnamon roll Mojo the doge is in this book <3)
(Trying not to spoil it too much here but it’s pretty obvious what happens, but POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD)
If TOBT was really just “the body-swap episode,” it could be written off as “wacky,” we could talk about the silliness of the details of the body swap, all that. We could even talk about how frustrating it was that Lestat went into a deal with a self-proclaimed THIEF and assumed that this dude would, you know, HONOR THE TERMS OF THEIR DEAL to the letter, but such were the poor state of the trust issues of our lovable but hamburger-brained moron de Lioncourt at that point in canon. He was also extra vulnerable to being taken advantage of bc he was feeling unworthy of life at all and pulled an Icarus ;A;
^So this was the cover for the edition that I read, it’s the first edition that was published. And the cover actually is relevant to this story, bc the statue you see here getting enveloped in a gray mist (it was a dull silver in real life) is The Rape of the Sabine Women by Giambologna in Loggia dei Lanzi. I’m not going to go into a deep comparison of this to TOBT, essays can be and probably have been written on it.
I think a lot of those ppl in 1994 who wrote TOBT off as “wacky” had not actually read it bc this book takes the body horror to a place that most body-swap episodes/films wouldn’t dare to go. There are major consent issues, sexual and otherwise. There’s rape. I think AR was exploring sin and consent, she unflinchingly went there. Some ppl in the fandom refuse to accept it as canon bc they did read it and are repulsed by how far it went with these explorations.
Personally, I always advocate reading the book, and stopping if you need to, or engaging with it however works best for you. I think there are good things in that book and I think Lestat changes through the course of the story. Improvement is not always an easy trajectory. Just like in real life,
improving oneself can be a struggle, and there are often setbacks, sometimes devastating. One could say he ends up worse than he begins this story, one could say he ends up better than he begins. Just because you read/write problematic things, does not mean you condone them.
Oprah walked out of a screening of IWTV when it was first in theatres. [X] Tom Cruise told her afterwards that he wasn’t surprised. “The movie is not for everyone.” Similarly with fiction. This book is not for everyone.
[^X The pic I chose of the statue is not from the same angle as the pic used on the cover, but you get the idea.]
Well first of all, #I love these kind of stories, where ppl talk about how they got sucked into this fandom, whether it’s when they first saw movie!IWTV (or movie!QOTD) or starting reading one of the books…
Movie!IWTV is frightening, there are brutally scary parts. It touches on a lot of taboo subjects. The kind of violence it has is scary partly because there’s the element of betrayal in many instances, definitely when Claudia knifes Lestat, and then when Louis sets him on fire ;A; We laugh about it now bc if we didn’t have a sense of humor about it, it would just be too cruel. But that is really cute that you watched it with your older sister, hopefully she explained things that were confusing or at least provided some support during the scary parts ;]
I was given book!IWTV when I was 11 and saw the movie soon after, sneaking over to my best friend’s house bc it was rated R and I wasn’t allowed to watch it. It was dark comedy to us, and we ended up watching it repeatedly, trying to memorize the lines so we could say them along with the movie. Our favorite line had to be:
“Just remember: Life – without me – would be even more unbearable.”And I can’t really gif that out, the shot is pretty dark, but you remember, it was here:
That line was a declaration between us, too. We’re still best friends to this day, 20+ years after bonding over this series!
VC had a huge enough influence on us. For better or worse *shrugs*
I was an ambivert. I was completely obsessed with antagonists, too. The VC encouraged me to develop all those extroverted traits I loved in Lestat, which other characters didn’t always approve of, but he dgaf! He marched to his own drum. He craves the spotlight for validation but his own love for himself outweighs these external rewards. The VC has been a huge source of strength. So much great advice. Here’s an example, that suffering can be embraced as being a valuable part of our experience, too:
“It’s an awful truth that suffering can deepen us, give a greater luster to our colors, a richer resonance to our words. That is, if it doesn’t destroy us, if it doesn’t burn away the optimism and the spirit, the capacity for visions, and the respect for simple yet indispensable things.” –Lestat, Queen of the Damned
But really, the quote that bound me and my best friend together, that’s what I hope for fandom to accomplish. We do come and go, but I’ve been in this for 20+ years, and it seems to me that VC fandom as a whole will always be here for those who want it.
“Just remember: Life – without me – would be even more unbearable.”
^What I think is also worth mentioning here is that Lestat could have killed Louis or just left Louis in NOLA at any time (before Claudia). But he didn’t. Even at his worst, Lestat was still fascinated with Louis, and life – without him – would have been even more unbearable ❤
