“It’s not a tunnel. It’s a canvas passage that was constructed to protect Lestat from photographers."

New York Magazine, 1993

Facts extracted:

  • AR wanted Jeremy Irons to play Lestat.
  • There was a tunnel to get Tom!Lestat to and from set. I had heard that before, but not that it was HIS idea. That they just wanted to keep control of spoilers.
  • The pic with this article looks like a shot someone took of him on set. Not an official production still, a paparazzi shot. So they did catch him outside the Tunnel of Secrecy?!
  • Lestat has always loved being photographed but probably not when he’s all swampy, so that was just Tom being IC ;]

Author’s Note: You requested a drabble with Nicolas dealing with the holiday. Well, after I sat down to write, this is what came out. I don’t know that he’s ‘dealing’ as well as he’d like to be, not this year. Also, please note below that there is a link for a video the lullaby he plays. Merry Christmas!

// THANK YOU SO MUCH!

This is perfect and you’re perfect and I wish I was better at expressing just how wonderful you are. You know, another way than being evil to your characters.

I’m so glad I met you and a very merry Christmas to you.

The suit I made for iasg to wear in the fashion show fits my little sister!

Earlier this week she asked me what she should be for Halloween and I said “Lestat!” She hasn’t even seen Interview With The Vampire, but she likes the suit and has wavy blonde hair, so she’s going as Lestat.

(I know it doesn’t look exactly like what he wore in the movies, but it’s the right era and quite close to his colour scheme. Pretty darn good for something I already had in my closet!)

I had forgotten about this but she didn’t end up wearing it on Halloween. Said it wasn’t comfortable enough to wear for that many hours.

She may not know him but she’s got the posing right *u*

^it doesn’t even matter what Lestat’s thinking about this cosplayer, he should be shot down regardless.

Shakespeare’s Othello | Starring Omar Sy, Lea Seydoux, Gaspard Ulliel, Clemence Poesy, and Romain Duris.

Shakespeare’s tragedy set in contemporary Paris in the world of old money and the elite, a world made up of champagne, fast cars, and lavish parties. Self-made man Othello (Sy), has recently eloped with the breathtaking Desdemona (Seydoux), after bringing himself up from the Paris slums to become the founder of his own company. Although Othello and Desdemona’s love is passionate and genuine, it is not accepted by all: Desdemona’s CEO father is furious that Othello has allegedly seduced his daughter, and Roderigo, a wealthy bank owner and a possible husband for Desdemona, is angered that the “new money” Othello has stolen her from him. Othello takes the somewhat inexperienced Michael Cassio (Duris) as his new business partner, angering Iago (Ulliel) who believes that he deserves the job over Cassio. When Othello must go to Montparnasse for business, Desdemona goes with him, as well as Cassio, Iago, and Iago’s wife Emilia (Poesy). What no one knows is that Iago has plans to destroy Othello’s marriage and his business, bringing down everyone in the process.

For @i-want-my-iwtv, who had “Lestat and Claudia have a teaparty with blood in the cups, Louis is not amused” for a prompt. I like Lestat and Claudia by themselves when I finished because it had a creepy/funny vibe. Imagine just before Louis walks in all =_= if you will.

I hope you like!!! 😀

From: @remarried

This is SO perfect, I can’t even!

♥u♥  Their expressions, the obvious familial chemistry going on here, the details (Claudia has a cushion for a little height! Or bc she’s the princess, probably both ;u;) the creepy/funny vibe, I love it. She is totally a chip off the old block.

You are totes right, it’s way better that Louis isn’t there, ruining the moment with his lack of humor about what constitutes “playtime.”

These, for me, are the two most depressing paintings in western history. They were painted by post-impressionist Henry de Toulouse-Lautrec, a man who, due to inbreeding, was born with a genetic disorder that prevented his legs from growing after they were broken. After being so thoroughly mocked for is appearance, he became an alcoholic, which is what eventually caused his institutionalization and death. His only known romantic relations were with prostitutes.

And then he paints something like this which is so beautiful and tender and sentimental. It seems like the couple in bed really loves each other–cares about each other. Wakes up happy to look at each other. And I see that love and passion and I wonder how lonely he must have been. I wonder how he could paint something like this without it breaking his heart.

Maybe they say artists should create what they know, not because its unbelievable when they extend themselves beyond their experiences, but because when they pull it off with such elegance, it’s so damn unbearable to look at. I hate thinking of Lautrec, wondering about the lovers he created and knowing it was beyond his experience. Creating something that he knows is beautiful and knows he’ll never really understand.
